Hi, I have the MKS SBASE v1.3 and I have it working fine for the first hotend. For the life of me, I can't get the setup for the second hotend to work. Have you (or anyone on this thread) got dual/multi-extrusion working on this board? I have a temperature reading of 38.5C on the second termistor input (regardless if anything is connected). Hi, I am a MKS Base v1.3 user. I use 42BYGHM809 Nema17 0.9 degree stepper motors for X-Y-Z axes. I want my 3d printer to print lower resolution and be faster. However, I read an article, is using 0.9 degree motors in MKS Base v1.3 sensible? Or, what should I do/change in MKS firmware (attached)?by cagtag - Reprappers
Quotedc42 Read all of my response, not just the first 4 words. One of my printers uses 16x microstepping, no dampers, and has no enclosure. It produces the "music", which is normal for this design of printer. The other is virtually silent while printing, apart from the fans, since I switched it to 256x microstepping. Again it has no dampers or enclosure. Your DRV8825 drivers are limited to x32by cagtag - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Quotedc42 Quotecagtag ...but there is also sound (like a music) when extruder print a circle shape. I listen to Zortrax, Makerbot and Ultimaker, there is no sound when printing. Why? What are their boards, motors or motor drive? That sound is entirely normal unless you either use stepper drivers with very high microstepping (e.g. 256x which is what I use), or you use dampers and soundproofing whby cagtag - Stepper Motors, Servo Motors, DC Motors
Quotedc42 I think the problem may be that the MKS SBASE uses DRV8825 drivers, which are known to be noisy with low-inductance motors when configured in fast decay mode, especially when using higher supply voltages. But I don't know whether the MKS SBASE does configure the drivers in fast decay mode. See for more. I have another problem about speed. I wanted to print "turbinehousing2_repaired.stl" , but wall collapsed and diameter 0.1mm smaller due to wall speed. I printed the same object with Cura 15.04.6 and same wall speed, the wall was perfect. I think that I miss some settings in Cura 2.3.1.by cagtag - Printing
I am sorry, I asked it for Linux/Ubuntu. FreeCAD has Ubuntu version. Are there other free programs?by cagtag - General
Hi, I have some step files to view, convert to stl and then print them in 3d printer. However, I couldn't find free CAD program for this purpose. Do you know?by cagtag - General
Hi, Which program do you use? Do you sent me the settings of the program? And which value should I change for finding best distance?by cagtag - Printing
Hi, I use Cura and I want to print my models with raft. However, raft isn't removable from my model. I watched a video from Zortrax (below) and people can removable easily the rafts.by cagtag - Printing
Hi! I found some 3D Printers that could continue to print when power on. However, could you tell me how to achieve this function use smoothieboard for my cartesian printer? I think if smoothieboard could remember the gcode and it's print line before power off, we can do it? I found this page and this page when I googled it.by cagtag - Developers

Quotefrankvdh Quotecagtag If I print 10mm above the bed, there is no problem. I tried it. OK, so the problem isn't in the extruder or hot-end. What kind of printer do you have? How are you setting the nozzle height? Are you using auto-leveling? How flat is your bed? ("Level" refers to the plane of the bed... it should be in the same plane as the nozzle moves. Hi, I have a model to check the quality of printer. You can see the model in this link: I have some questions to print quality: - Which should I use type of filament? (ABS, PLA, etc.) - Which should I use diameter of the nozzle? (I have 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 diameter nozzles.) - Which should I set the slicer options? Hi, I have problem with my extruder. I can extrude filament before printing, but when I start to print and nozzle touches a little the bed, extrusion stops or extruder is clogged. Then, I can retract the filament uneventfully and extrude again the same filament, no problem. Additionally, sometimes drive gear crushes the filament because of clogging of the nozzle, so I retract it and cut it. Myby cagtag - Reprappers
