I had the same issue with the Sanguinololu and my milled mendel clone. It turns out that the issue is the pin assignments. So when you go into the "configuration.h" file to configure the firmware you need to swap the values of "X_MAX_PIN" and "X_MIN_PIN". Then you must set X_HOME_DIR to 1.by x2800m - Firmware - mainstream and related support
The Y belt arrangement is a result of incorrect assembly. (The machine was completely assembled in a single 11 hour stint. This resulted in me using the foot jigs on the wrong set of rails. and I'm far too lazy to fix it). The Y steps/mm will change near the VERY edges of movement. However, I'm generally fabricating small parts and the change while I traverse my typical operating region is not noby x2800m - Reprappers
Greetings: I'll probably start a flame war by saying this, but I've never really been a fan of the arduino or PIC electronics designs (being a ARM guy myself... personal preference...) anyway while shopping at www.mouser.com I've stumbled across a rather inexpensive, yet powerful family of ARM uC development boards: Mouser PN: DB-LQFP48-LPC2103 and DB-LQFP48-LPC2106 Proper use would reby x2800m - Controllers
Funny that you should bring that topic up... I believe part# 96 is supposed to be used as some sort of PCB clamp to mount the electronics on the cross braces(but I' m not sure), and I'm still not certain as to the purpose of part# 95. I did not use these parts during assembly, but I still have them lying around in a bag somewhere. I think the best thing to do at this stage would be to contact Ianby x2800m - Reprappers
the mica heater has been operating for no less than 4 hours a day since the 25th. Has not failed yet.by x2800m - Mechanics
Greetings All: So I've recently received my second bits from bytes extruder kit. (the first one was a victim of my numerous misdeeds). To counteract the low heat problem I first covered the barrel with some mica film (McMaster part# 85825K41) the mica was then secured using a coating of teflon tape to prevent film from unraveling. The heater coil was then wound directly onto the teflon / micby x2800m - Mechanics
About that "heat shield"... I decided to install the heat shield after reading one of nophead's articles (something about a bath salt vial). Previous insulation attempts all involved fiberglass, and diagnosing failures was fairly messy. As for the tube, it was obtained from McMaster-Carr (part# 8585K181). While it does work well, there are a curious number of stress fractures in the shield. I belby x2800m - Reprappers
Good news! "the machine" has finally produced its first meaningful print: (The bed material was switched to an ABS sheet after observing some FDM machines in the USF industrial engineering lab (special thanks to those who facilitated that)) Warping still occurred, but it is a step in the right direction. And finally, the part in it's semi-natural habitat: As the pics illustrate thby x2800m - Reprappers
I believe uploading a precompiled version of the software would be beneficial to both developers and users. Think of it as a beta test. (I tried to compile it myself but ran into some problems that I could not solve...) Now that we've seen the pics of what it looks like, let the lay user actually get their hands on it...by x2800m - RepRap Host
Thanks so much. I'll give these a try.by x2800m - RepRap Host
I was using the version bundled with the regular firmware download, I believe it is v1.3. Actually I've decided to give the regular (non gcode) firmware another try. Apparently I don't get any crashes when I use the Reprap Live CD for a host. This leads me to believe the cause of all my troubles was within the RXTX libs or latency somewhere in the OS (I tried windows XP and Vista, as well as Ubunby x2800m - RepRap Host
Well, its been a frustrating week... So I've decided to switch to gcode after being unable to solve the arduino crash problem (even with the extruder motor unplugged). After figuring out how to use the gcode generation package (for those of you who can't seem to make sense of the output try opening the .stl file in AOI then applying a -90 degree rotation about the x-axis then exporting the correcby x2800m - RepRap Host

Due to a mishap with the extruder (internal shorting due to careless assembly), I got the urge to do some drawing to "test" the cartesian bot. So I made a pen holder (I know one already exists, but the more the merrier). Materials for the pen holder include a 25mm wide, 3mm thick aluminum strip, and some 5mm thick acrylic scrap generated during the construction of the extruder (bits from bytes).by x2800m - Reprappers
Greetings everyone! welcome to my first post. I've just finished assembling a bits from bytes reprap. Aside from a rather silly screwup on my part (rearranging the corner blocks in such a way as to prevent the installation of 4 diagonal stabilizers), the assembly was uneventful. Either way, one question: Within Ubuntu 8.04 I start the host software, but when I attempt to place parts (from .sby x2800m - RepRap Host
