which host software are you using to communicate with the RAMPS board? if it is repsnapper the default speed (3000) is way too high for the extruder bring it down to about 1400 and test it, it should work after thatby ECSuyu - RAMPS Electronics
when you upload the firmware the Tx and Rx LEDs should flash for a good 10-15seconds as it write the firmware onto the arduino board, do you get that?by ECSuyu - RAMPS Electronics
I'll check them out and see what they have as I was going to go there for some grub screws and nuts didnt think they would sell the dupont connectors as well. I found the ones they sold at SMI were meant for computers and are roughly 2x the size of the pins on the endstop and are white/beige in color. As always thanks Brad for the suggestion.by ECSuyu - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Just out of curiosity does anyone have any dupont 2 and 3 pin connectors? Im just switching over from gen3 to ramps and need some connectors for the thermister and endstops. checked a few places in langley and no one had the dupont ones anything bigger is really hard to get in between the endstop pins. If anyone has some bring them to the meet please!by ECSuyu - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Try looking at the firmware I was testing my newly bought ramps 1.2 last night. You can get repsnapper to communicate with the arduino without even having the RAMPS board attached. What I would do is check for the following: In arduino: 0. remove the ramps board and just connect arduino to the computer. 1. load firmware (sprinter set the number to 33 instead of 3 in the config) *i know you didby ECSuyu - RAMPS Electronics
same here 2nd Wednesday works quite well actually. If that works for people then I think the only thing now is finding a location that's more reprap machine friendly and that can be the designated place to meetby ECSuyu - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
With October quickly approaching I thought I'd drop by here and check on what the situation was like for everyone in terms of availability for meet dates/times. I think going on a month to month/bi-weekly basis with various times is decent it would be good to set a day and time (if this was to continue, which it should) that reoccurs would be better choice in the long run as it allows everyone toby ECSuyu - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. With the meet around the corner, I thought I'd just pop in here to make sure its still going. Do we have a rough idea of how many are going yet? Or should we just drop by around 7 and ask to be seated with Bradby ECSuyu - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
14th at 7pm works for me as well. By the way Brad, I might take you up on making a plumbstruder as the ones I got from techzone is just not working out for me, guess we'll talk more about it during the meet.by ECSuyu - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
I should be good for the 14th at 7pm will see you all there. Also Just to clarify as there are a few BPs in Langley, are we talking about the one on the Langley Bypass? Or the one in Aldergrove by 264 or even the one in walnut grove.by ECSuyu - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
congrats on the reprap kit, it looks tough on paper (internet) but assembling it wasnt too hard of a task As for meeting time if we are going with the 10th or 11th I believe Im good whenever though would probably prefer it to be mid to late afternoon. Would also need to know soon which one of them it is going to be, if we do decide to use either the 10th or 11th as I have quiet an important evenby ECSuyu - Canada, Fraser Valley B.C. RUG
Hey Brad, Thanks for dropping me a PM, otherwise I would never have known about this. Langley works great for me, and usually the weekends are best though sometimes I'd be able to make it on a weekday. The 10th or 11th both work for me pretty well and since I'm located in Langley that shouldn't be a problem at all. As long as a location/time is set I should be able to come. I am planning on using a heated bed with glass and from a bit of reading it seems that most of the picture frame glass are temepered, perhaps this has something to do with why your prints arent sticking? Perhaps find a local glass shop and ask for a small piece of each, tempered and none tempered and see if that is the case. Would be interesting to see.by ECSuyu - Reprappers
Hey Brad, I'll be interested in the PLA, Im sick of buying from the US and paying the price for shipping if we are able to get a local that can offer the same things. As for ABS, i have some ABS coming in for personal use from a manufacture if anyone wants to give it a try and give me some reviews before my heated bed is up, so anyone interested let me know, i will have about 2-3 small test bunby ECSuyu - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group

@brnrd - thanks for the reply, I still need to figure out how to use SF40 as the files i was using to print was gotten from the public file section of the 3dtoolchain website provided by techzone. Which from my understanding has SF running in the background to do the conversions of STL. I still have to figure out how to convert solidworks STLs to proper gcodes. do you guys mind with me what youby ECSuyu - General Mendel Topics
Edit: even with the checksum/lineNR error i can still print, i realized that once the print starts i dont get any communication between the temperature reading and the repsnapper software. The temp will show once again after the print is finished. Got the filament and got some calibration prints done,Im not sure which is causing the issues, it looks like either extruding too much plastic or theby ECSuyu - General Mendel Topics

Hey guys, got my TZ laser cut mendel all assembled now electronics and all working with a few errors that im trying to hammer out. Meanwhile Im waiting for some PLA to be shipped so i can start the calibration process. My question is for those with the TZ gen3 electronics Ive been getting an error with: 20:46:57 Send >>Received: Serial Error:Recieved a LineNr code without a Checksum codeby ECSuyu - General Mendel Topics
Hey guys, I've been lurking around for a bit now and i think it's time to introduce myself and get to know the community a little. Im a design student, being a design student I have alot of experience working with 3D printers/ laser cutters/ CNC machines with the schools machines. I also have quite alot of experience with solidworks that will be able to help design/improve future parts, so withby ECSuyu - Canada, Vancouver RepRap User Group
