I've been following this thread for a while and I am impressed with how quickly the prototype Simpson came together. Great work Nicholas.by SheldonE - Delta Machines

A far better story than the printed gun.by SheldonE - General

Don't know if I'm smarter, but I'm currently building a Prusa i3 and I'm building over-sized. All the axis on the i3 can be re-sized and I suspect the Mendel90 is in the same boat.by SheldonE - General

Yeah, haven't gotten that far yet, I'm still collecting parts, but it'll probably be MDF. I can't really afford to buy them all the parts at once. ikilledkenny Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > SheldonE - Nice work so far!!! Thanks, but I suspect this is the easy part. My woodworking skills really suck, I can't cut a straight line for nuts. I'm also building an XL version, I should have around 400mm of Y-axis and I'm planing similar measurements for the X ans Z axes.by SheldonE - Reprappers
Just in case anyone hits the same hurdle, drilling the hole out to 10mm works, but go very slowly. I drilled one a bit to fast and it cracked (delaminated): I'm hoping it'll hold out until I can print off some new feet. Here's my Y-frame:by SheldonE - Reprappers
I don't think the clearance will be an issue, there's 15mm from the bottom of the 8mm hole to the base of the leg and the wiki suggests a 12mm board. If needed I could just put some shims on the bottom of the feet until I can print off some new ones.by SheldonE - Reprappers
I wonder if I can just drill the holes out to 10mm, anyone see any problems with that?by SheldonE - Reprappers

As far as I know, my parts came from the github repository linked on the main i3 page here. The Y-axis corners definitely have 8mm holes.by SheldonE - Reprappers
Just a heads up, the BOM for the i3 seems to be out of date. It mentions 2xM10 threaded rods for the Y-axis, but the Y corners can only take an M8 rod. I updated the Wiki accordingly. Does anyone know if the M5 threaded rods for the Z-axis are still used?by SheldonE - Reprappers

I'm looking for a source for the printed parts for a Prusa i3, I'd like the option of buying a few parts at a time. I'm based in NW Sydney. Please contact me at sheldon (dot) easterbrook (at) hotmail (dot) com Thanks, Sheldon.by SheldonE - Wanted
