Are you saying you under extruded by 5/16ths or by 5/8thsby dougal1957 - Reprappers
Ok so I reckon we need to increase your Extrusion step by approx. %50 can you take a shot of the lower half of the EEPROM Page pleaseby dougal1957 - Reprappers
yes it wont let you extrude unless you are above the safe temp else you can damage the hotend or motor.by dougal1957 - Reprappers
can't understand why that would come in that size it doesn't make senseby dougal1957 - Reprappers
erm ok think again to extrude you need to press the down arrow but it may be blocked due to being cold have you removed the hotend?by dougal1957 - Reprappers
OK under the Config drop down there is an import units what is that set to it needs to be MM for the test cube to workby dougal1957 - Reprappers
in that case there is a setting wrong look like it may be set to inches somewhere let see if I can find a setting for thatby dougal1957 - Reprappers
I Don't really get what you mean (I Typed in 0.05 on each Axis)?by dougal1957 - Reprappers
yes it is to mark the filament 120mm away from where it will enter the extruder the extrude 50mm and measure again then I need to know this measurement?by dougal1957 - Reprappers
so the sizes are better then looks like the height is of a bit tho? also looks like it may be under extruding the best thing to do is to calibrate the Extruder properly ie take the hot end of if poss measure about 120mm away from the input part of the extruder and mark the Filament at that point. Use the manual controls on Rep Host and extrude 50mm of filament measure where your line is and tellby dougal1957 - Reprappers
did you change your steps/mm in the eeprom first?by dougal1957 - Reprappers
Guys Can we please all agree to disagree and put this to Bed it is getting a little out of hand now. just my thoughts.by dougal1957 - Controllers
OK I use the slicr straight from Repetier first capture shows the whole and then the next 3 show different tabs remember to save after each tab!! Dougby dougal1957 - Reprappers
Which slicer? and I'll take some screen prints for youby dougal1957 - Reprappers
When you select the slicer tab there is a configure button in ther click that and the Slicer config page will open you need to tell it what size nozzle and size filament in thereby dougal1957 - Reprappers
Sounds like you have been given 20 tooth pulley's and not 16's which is what the firmware is set for try setting your X and Y Steps to be 80 instead of 100 (Do this in the EEPROM part of Rep-Host) and try it again. Also check your slicer settings are set for a 0.4 nozzle? Doug (I Told you we'd get this thing printing it's now a case of calibrating think you may also have to calibrate your extrby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteAndyCart You may be better looking at 230V silicone mats for the larger heated beds if you want to get to ABS bed temps. I switch mine, on my core XY machines, with a small relay and set the firmware to bang bang mode. The bed stays within a degree of target providing you have an aluminium sheet between the mat and the glass to act as a heat mass. The last one I bought was 400mm x 400mm 1000by dougal1957 - Delta Machines
Wish I had known that I have been struggling to get one had 2 orders in now with Aliexpress that have both been canceled due to non shipment although the supplier when I tried to cancel the second one refused saying it was in production what eh so I have this morning ordered a 300mm 220VAC one If I had known I would have had one of yours of you. Do you have access to any Machining facilities cosby dougal1957 - Delta Machines
QuoteMatt,Wheatley Well, the print looks much better at 270, I also put the print speed up. However as soon as the head got near the print bed the mirror cracked, might be time for a aluminium build plate :/ Anybody know where to get 300mm diameter aluminium heat beds Matt You could get one of these 300mm diameter Heater and one of these Round Aluminium Blanks and an Solid State Relay to swby dougal1957 - Delta Machines
Quotejsv555 Hi Doug I'm not sure. I'm after the really tiny crimps that go into the motor housing that fits into the motor. They are an odd shape. I think I have some of the Molex crimps and a crimping tool. Thanks for your help. Jonok in that case you can get ready made cables for that I am assuming that they are std in which case go to Motor cables order one per motor then change the Faby dougal1957 - Ormerod
QuoteOO DURKE OO it is a 0.4mm nozzle and extrudes 1.75 PLA or ABS. OK in Repetier click on Config then on Units of Imported objects and set that to mm that should then be ok for most things However if you download anything to Print that has been designed in Inches then you will have to change that again? Dougby dougal1957 - Reprappers
Are these the crimps for the Duet controller? if so you can get them from Rapid Electronics for not a lot of cash if so I think this is what you need MOLEX Crimps It helps to have the proper crimp tool as well Crimp Tool Not cheap but invaluable HTH Dougby dougal1957 - Ormerod
QuoteOO DURKE OO well no calipers here and given I just got it working dont think I will be breaking it down either. But I have some tape measures they should still be fairly accurate. if I can get this bed level ill run a test print. Yes do it should only take about 50 mins or so but at least it will tell us how everything is set up it should take a little over 3 mtrs of 1.75 filament in factby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO seems like its just a firmware thing. The end stop is on the other side mounted to the extruder on the left. So if I go into the eeprom I can change the settings so the x axis goes further to the right? Yes you can but I think we need to get a Calibration print of first so we know what to adjust first is the have supplied 16 tooth pulleys then it should be set right but they mby dougal1957 - Reprappers
Quotecyber.shifter That's what I thought. I wasn't thinking of doing anything large yet. I just wanted to build a MM2 without having to start completely from scratch. I'll just have to get a 12v power supply instead. Thanks for the input! --cyber.shifter-- You can use a PC ATX supply tho my preference is for a CCTV/LED type Supply they are much easier and not very expensive either just try andby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO The only other thing is I noticed my X axis does not go all the way to the right. It is still missing about an inch to an 1.5 inches on the bar. the extruder comes within about .5 inches of the edge of my print bed do you think that will be an issue? I Don't know the size of your bed but the firmware is set 200 x 200 and the normal heat plates are 215x215 so there is some overby dougal1957 - Reprappers
OK Trifid's guide should be good for that What I do is Home all axis and adjust the bed with the levelling screws until a piece of copy paper just slides with resistance under the nozzle the move the X to say 190mm and then do the same with that corner move the Y to 190 do the same and then home X do the same then repeat to check that the bed is truly level. The purpose of the 20mm Cal cube is 2by dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO anyone have any goog guides for using repetier to print? I need to know how to properly scale an item so it fits my print bed now. Also does repetier have a bed leveling program? Glad to know it is now working to a fashion just need to calibrate it all now. It is probably all set to operate in mm now and you may be working in inches. There is a scaling function in Repetier iby dougal1957 - Reprappers
Quotecyber.shifter Greetings! I bought parts for constructing a Mendel about 4 years ago, and have a lot of the important bits, but life happened and I didn't get around to finishing it. Now I see the advancements that have been made and would like to make a MendelMax 2.0. What I'm wondering is if I can use my RAMPS system to control it, or will I have to go with something else? I noticed a lotby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO Quotedougal1957 Robert the motherboard as you call it has marking's on it for the endstop positions they all need to be in the sockets marked up as X- Y- and Z- make sure they are in the correct socket for the endstop in question ie your Z endstop needs to be in the Z- socket and so on.
