Quotemwhatch Hi all, I recently finished a MakerLibre Kossel Mini and love it. I really like the Delta platform. I was thinking of building the Mini 1.5x. I am wondering if 2020 extrusion 900mm will be strong enough. I have also seen it in 2040. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Have a search in here for a thread called A larger slice of Pi this is a large version of Andy's superb Cherby dougal1957 - Delta Machines
QuoteAndyCart I did a very similar same thing when I first started using them. I bought just the delrin wheel from OpenBuilds as I had the bearings in stock. I tried to use a normal washer. It didn't work! I ended up buying the correct shim and spacer and all was well but it ended up costing me more than buying the kit in the first place due to shipping and customs costs. We live and learn! Gladby dougal1957 - Delta Machines
I speak to you later see how we get on with it at least we now know all your machine settings.by dougal1957 - Reprappers
those look good actually see where you have homing offsets you could try adjusting the Z one see if you can get it down to the bed that way but before you do if you go to the manual control tab you should see the controls and hit the z home icon and see where it ends up if it is close to the bed then good I'll be back in at around 5 uk time. Did you install Rep host with Cura if so we can configby dougal1957 - Reprappers
PM Me your email address so I can send the Rep configs over for youby dougal1957 - Reprappers
ok on the time well I will be back at around 5ish so can continue later if you wish?by dougal1957 - Reprappers
its under config at the top and then its fairly obvious just hope that board has an eeprom on it (I Think it does) if you can try and get a screen grab of page and we'll see where we go I need to go out now and will be out for a few hours so not sure if you'll still be around when I get back? If you can get thos grabs I will attempt to do a Repetier config for you and send you the Configuration.by dougal1957 - Reprappers
Can I recommend that you download Repetier-Host and install it at least that way we can check the eeprom stings and have manual control of the printer as well and we can then check it out. I am in the UK by the way. ist 11:50 am here Dougby dougal1957 - Reprappers
that looks like a 2 start to me As a matter of interest where are you?by dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO it set the z height to 0.29 and then started printing when really its should be like 0.2 or close to that. Ahah look at my pic and try adjusting the circled bit down to 0.2 and try it againby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuotePointy Thanks Andy. I have never got on with Pronterface to be honest, I remember having issues with it and my Ormerod. Once I switched to Daves firmware and the web interface, I never looked back. I will maybe give Cura/Repetier Host a try and at some point down the road I may look at doing a custom web interface for the Smoothieboard. As for the CP, it's at least printing, just needs soby dougal1957 - Delta Machines
as close up to the screw top as you canby dougal1957 - Reprappers
take a photo of the leadscrew from above for me if your not sure what I'm asking it looks to be a 2 start from your other fotosby dougal1957 - Reprappers
Don't worry we will get you there tho it may have to be later as I need to go to a fault soon?by dougal1957 - Reprappers
Pitch can you tell the diameter of the screw (it will prob be 8mm) and then I need the distance between the edges of one turn of the thread it will probably 1.5 or 2 mm and also if the screw is a 1 start or 4 start thread (look down on the screw and see how may thread start you can see)by dougal1957 - Reprappers
OK lets see if I can help you how many teeth are on your Pulleys and what is the pitch of your Z Leadscrews?by dougal1957 - Reprappers
You will need the Arduino IDE software and I think there is a good instruction set on Reps page that will walk you thru it (it is the Firmware drop down Instalation) Dougby dougal1957 - Reprappers

QuoteOO DURKE OO Looks like repetier is asking me to pay to download it. I am not up for that option. I just invested 400 in this machine and I don't want to fork out anymore. Is there anywhere else I can get it from? Do I install it to my printer? You don't have to donate if you don't want to I use it so I have donated but even then if I want to change something in my config thru the onlineby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO ah how do I do that? I am totally new to this as per my post. I am using Cura 14.07 and just using the files they provided me on the disc to do a test run of the printer. You can open one of those gcode files in a text editor or notepad and cut and paste the first few lines if it is an STL file then your cura is inserting the lines and may be set wrong also check the screenby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO QuotePedroB Fairly new to all this and having fun de-bugging my printer. right out of the gate I got a couple of really nice prints. I currently have a strange problem with my z height. I have my bed well trammed in all around. I'm using slic3r with a .3mm layer height. The first "wipe" move is great- nozzle lays down a nice bead and then moves in for the print and nothing stickby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO This is an image of my LCD screen after the bed heats it sends everything to this setting which in turn causes my Z axis to be higher than the beds actual level. M502 resets back to factory settingsby dougal1957 - Reprappers
try checking this guys post's he may be able to help you Repetier can be found at www.repetier.com when you download the firmware from there you get the option to use the online config tool which makes it really simple (You will need to know your steps per mm etc but it is fairly intuitive There is an M command that should print those values from your current config I think it may be M501 juby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO no software files except for Cura and the Driver. And those took some looking to find on the disc. The steps also do not list anything for firmware installation either. This printer was supposed to be basically assemble and ready to go but it is turning out to be a hassle and then some to get this dang axis working right. I have seen other post's from users of this machine (Tby dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO How do I find those things? While I am technically apt, I am new to this type of hardware/software. So I have no clue where to find things like that. I am using the software that the motherboard and LCD came with. Did you get the FW supplied or is it just as it came with no software files for the Controller.by dougal1957 - Reprappers
Ah sounds like a config error What firmware are you using and can you post your config file for it not saying I will be able to solve the issue but am sure someone will be able to.by dougal1957 - Reprappers
QuoteOO DURKE OO Hello Doug The bed is leveled and a piece of paper goes between them without issue. The problem is when the printer starts the printer raises on the z axis and is no longer where it needs to be to lay plastic. So instead of being just above 0 its at something like 0.30 and then starts printing. This happens from an SD card read and also from CURA. though Cura is much better.by dougal1957 - Reprappers
OK what part actually operates that switch. Using the NO contacts isn't actually a good idea as a broken wire will stop them working properly whereas NC is more of a failsafe option in that if a wire breaks the printer will be inhibited. On My I3 I have a screw on the X axis block that I can adjust for the point at which my switch operates looks like on yours you may have to do the adjustment bby dougal1957 - Reprappers

Quotearthurwolf Quotedougal1957 The things I like about the Smoothie is the way the Config's are done Firmware updates are the easiet of them all (No Arduino environment needed to compile your firmware first which is needed on both the Ramps and the RADDS solutions) the Duet is also easy in the way the config is done (Possibly even easier than the Smoothie as the file is smaller and I'm sure thaby dougal1957 - Reprappers
