QuoteWilberMaker I ask the question before and I think I got buried so I will try again. My bed is taking and unusal amount of time to heat up. Around 5 min or so. Tip is heating at the normal rate. I'm running a different Marlin than before, what settings would control this? 5 minutes is NOT unusual. Some people experience twice that amount of time. QuoteUltiFix QuoteKeary123 I finally found some more time to work on my printer. I just switched my autoleveling sensor from the right side of the extruder to the left side. With something that large, you don't need a brim. Just a waste of plastic. You shouldn't have to compensate for the material not sticking. If it isn't sticking and your temp is in that range for PLA, then you have a problem that needs correcting. Start over with the Z endstop and get your nozzle 0.1 mm or 0.004" away from the bed everywhere when you hit Z home. Don't use anything in the firmby tjnamtiw - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteUltiFix This doesnt happen very often, but lately its happend twice in a row. My filament will jam in the middle of a print, and I can hear clicking noises coming out of the extruder... I noticed filament was jammed inside my hotend, so I just heated the hotend up really hot and pushed out the plastic. 1. Im wondering what causes this to happen randomely? 2. Is it time for me to get a nby tjnamtiw - Prusa i3 and variants
Yes, I'm not familiar with that extruder set-up but after thinking about it, you must be right, McCarman. He removed the fan (hopefully) to show us the jam. I wasn't sure if that was a jam nut under the heat break or part of the tube. On my FT 2020 i3 I have my tube like you described right up close to the output of the extruder. If it's a jam nut, then he should run that tube up much highby tjnamtiw - Prusa i3 and variants
Exactly! I see no fan to cool the block above the hot end. ALSO it does not appear, unless it's an optical illusion, that the path of the filament through the drive gear is in line with the tube that leads to the hotend.by tjnamtiw - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteamishboy I have had my printer up and running for a while now and recently installed a BLTouch sensor for autoleveling. The autolevelling process seems to work and i see the z axis slightly moving but it appears to not be correcting enough. Below is a picture of my firt layer where you can see that the right side looks good but the left is off. I have attached my configuration file also.by tjnamtiw - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteBert3D QuoteWilberMaker tjnamtiw, I think you might be right. It is flashing while going up. I did not know the error would cause that. I have problems getting it to repeat the same problem enough to figure out what exactly it is doing. That also says voltage problem. Have a power strip on the bench behind the printer with two 2.1A USB plugs. That should be enough power. Have to try it laterby tjnamtiw - Prusa i3 and variants
I just select the 'preheat PLA' or 'preheat ABS' and once the temp is up on the hotend, I squeeze the lever to release pressure on the filament, push down on the filament for a few cm and then pull it out. Hang the new material, straighten the end, insert and push it down to flush out the old stuff. No sense getting to technical. Every color or material will take a different amount of time/filby tjnamtiw - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteWilberMaker Still beating my head against the wall. Thought I about had the BLTouch working Now the printer refuses to do any homeing at all. I give it G28 and the Z axis starts going up. Quoteav8r1 Three things about the Folger 2020: 1. Don't buy this kit from them, buy their normal Prusa i3 kit. 2020 extrusion is okay, but the hardware that comes with it is total wank. I see what they were trying to accomplish with those T-nuts, and it would have been cool if it had actually worked. Thing is, they don't. ''Elegant" design with threaded rods and nuts? You'd be better off buying a kit and then upgrading what you don't like after you get it running. A Folger Tech 2020 is much more 'elegant' than the threaded rod version and their Cloner will get you a look alike of a very popular 3D printer.
