it sounds like you are not hitting shift and right mouse button? Bruceby brucew - 3D Design tools
I have been trying to build the bearing for about a week now granted I have probably 8 hours into it but it has been a challenge I am starting to agree. I think it might be different if you were modeling from scratch but using to make a model of a accurate part is not very easy. I am going to keep going and see if it is just myself and a learning curve though. I have found the 3d screen moreby brucew - 3D Design tools
Ken, Do you have access to a laser cutter? If not I made my machine from wood parts. MY blog is at I can help you out with drawings and pictures I used a drill press, Scroll saw and hand tools to make it. Bruce Wattendorfby brucew - Wanted
Ken, Where are you at in the world? I have the set from Ian almost in American sizes to use American hardware or you could make the parts from the files Ian posted. thouse should work in wood. The other option is to use the files that Vic Oliver has tweeked. Both of these file are in the mechanical folder on source forge. Bruce Wattendorfby brucew - Wanted
Thanks for the input I think I will give it a try. Does it have good measurement tools? That is what is lacking in AOI and so far I have not seen any in Blender. Bruceby brucew - RepRap Host
my bad Thanks Viktor there was a lot mentioned what do you think of the software? Bruceby brucew - RepRap Host
I do not think they have been recently updated? I am running a rev. that is 3 to 4 months old and they are missing some of latest settings that are on my build. I can ask Adrian to update since I was going to ask him to put what Electronics work with what rev. of code since the Pic electronics will not work with the latest code. Bruce Wby brucew - General
Found another link to some cool stuff in my search for all things "cad powered". they have some cool things listed in the software section. plus some free .stl files. Bruceby brucew - RepRap Host
just thought I would post it looks like no body has mentioned this software I found the link on the www.mechmate.com site the free software is called truespace. from looking at the web site it kind of looks like blender which I have been trying out. Bruce W.by brucew - RepRap Host
It looks great James Good luck and I hope to see a cup from you soon. The chains are a great idea... Bruce Wattendorfby brucew - Mechanics
And for anybody who is in the US I am working on converting the Bits from Bytes set to American hardware. I have the extruder done and I am 1/2 way through the robot. I hope to run a set of these off in Sept. Bruce Wattendorfby brucew - Plastic Extruder Working Group
I just wish my 12 year old would let me use my soldering iron. and also stop shutting off the TV with the TV be gone he built??by brucew - General

I do not have any recent pictures. I have been Slow because of summer and showing the printer. ( I should blog about the get together 2 weekends ago. ) I did print the rest of my diagonal brackets last night. I am not keeping anything under wraps. Just to hope to have a full set of parts soon. Bruceby brucew - General
I got a machine to print? The last I checked I was not on the development team? I have about 1/3 of a machine printed. Just summer has gotten in the way.>< and Plus I have been busy showing the machine as much as possible... Bruceby brucew - General
Well I am back from Scout Camp.. and some stuff I have found over the last week. 1st. Bits from bytes has updated his site and now has some PDF files under assembly info. ( I spent most of last week trying to figure the .DXF files out.) 2nd. It looks like the main sheet of parts could be printed out on a 1/4 inch thick sheet of plastic. 3rd. Today I went to Lowes on my way into work and foby brucew - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
Tom, Your book looks incredble and look foward to fully reading it this next week.. the link to the reprap forum on this technology was here Bruceby brucew - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
I am fine with starting at 12:00. I which I had my Arduino Electronics up and running but they are not finished yet.. It would be cool if we had anybody come from Dorkbot Boston. Bruceby brucew - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
Diane, Cool thanks. I can't wait. Well now I must get back to making some more parts on my machine.. Bruceby brucew - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
And it does stick when laid down in a smaller diameter then its extruded size (see I did not say stretch. I do not know if it is constantly the same size from start to end if lied down this way? So I guess it is off to speed up my machine a little then... -Bruceby brucew - General
Diane, Sure I am sure we should still be there at 5pm. How would we go about getting an OLPC to see if we can get our software to run on the new software platform?? -Bruceby brucew - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
Another issue is do you stretch the filament when it is laid down. I wonder what the Stratasys does? Right now my machine using ABS is set to not stretch or compress the filament. With that setting it is the extruder that is slowing me down not the robot. Now that might change with a smaller filament size. -Bruceby brucew - General
I am all set for the 26th the only issue is that I might not be able to stay for food after. (my Son and I have Scout camp starting the next day). So than are we still planning on 1 pm to 6 pm? I can bring my machine and computer.. Is there any thing in particular anybody wants to learn/cover?? It sounds like most of us know what RepRap is. I can cover how we made our machine, what we would do dby brucew - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
Olin is good for myself it is not to far for me to get to. Our machine is able to travel. The 26th seems to be ok but Sunday is off (My Son and myself are going to Scout camp) Bruceby brucew - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
Larry, I am Available next Saturday July 19th from 1 to 6. So if you have a place to meet I can go any where in RI or MASS. Bruce Wattendorfby brucew - Rhode Island / New England RUG
Sebastien, Thanks for the list of area related sites / places. I am available next Saturday July 19th from 1:00 to 6:00 if anybody wants to meet up. The only issue is the place I can travel to anywhere in RI. or MASS. and my machine is running as we speak. Bruce Wattendorfby brucew - Massachusetts, Boston RepRap User Group
The Original Cartesian Robot parts were made using Solid Edge using an academic license. The parts for the extruder were made using AOI. I can convert the solid edge files to any thing solid edge will convert to for you. Bruce Wattendorfby brucew - Reprappers
Humm.. I only connected one wire ( I am not sure which pin I will have to look). This is what the Wiki says to connect but now as I look at the schematic both pins are connected to the PIC? I do know with none connected you can not make a circle. Bruce W.by brucew - Controllers
In the Host software presets you can set the torque for each stepper... So for the PIC electronics there is a setting.. I do not know if this setting will change anything on the Arduino electronics. I have to set mine to 70% using the kelinger steppers and the PIC electronics. Bruce W.by brucew - Mechanics
