Well I got the motors in from www.kelinginc.net and they worked after I reloaded the newest firmware in my chip's they seem to be a small bit of vibration but if I adjust the torque they are not bad at around a setting of 210. They drive everything with no problem and are double shafted and the same size as the nanotech motors. and in seeing the first Darwin last week seem to be running very closby brucew - Mechanics

In the devoloper forum Forrest posted about Vm ware. and or live cd. i had some insight. 1st. I have been running vm ware for my reprap software. and i have found that the sun java com api seems to have a hard time talking to the usb port and also the serial port i am running vm ware workstation 5 2nd I have started on a live cd and have found the java license to be a problem. my 3rd optioby brucew - Reprappers

While trying to get the "beta" unversal board that I ordered with Zach I found that I am running debian in a virtual machine and each time i get a java port exception error which i also get when running the reprap software in windows (with no java comm api installed). so i then did a search and found this link to a different java com api i do not know if it can be added to the install but it souby brucew - Reprappers
I think Zach has something with using aluminum to build some parts? I have been using MDF but I found it breaks apart? it works for some parts but things like corner brackets it does not work to well. so I am thinking on using aluminum for the things that can break and need to be tapped, like corner brackets. what I found On my machine I am working on I am using MDF and had used 2 blocks stacked on top of each other I then had drilled one hole on the corner of all the blocks and inserted a nut and bolt to tighten the corners after they were allighned then made a block that had the 3 remaining holes alighned and drilled the remaining 3 holes on each corner so they were indexed on the 1st hole I foundby brucew - Darwin
