Giving me good results using SF41 and Repsnapper on Windows XP Skeinforge 41 settings Here are the settings I am now using with a little help from various people on the Reprap forums and via IRC chat. I am currently printing myself a complete new set of gears so that I have a spare set. Profile type – Extrusion Profile selection – No 4 (I have several I just kept cloning them so I could keep trby NelsonRap - Skeinforge
Hmm doesn't seem to work with Windows, I will have to keep guessing. I have been noting the differences and am able to make a reasonable guess but it would be nice to have something accurateby NelsonRap - Skeinforge
Has anyone ever tried printing a part or parts that screw together like a round container with a screw on lid? Friend asked me if I could make something in a specific size to suit a camera that I could incorporate an O ring into to make waterproof for caving (Speleology) purposesby NelsonRap - Let's design something! (I've got an idea ...)
I use Skeinforge41 to create my Gcode and I have noticed that the time to print that it outputs is wildly different to how long a print actually takes. I have just finished a print that according to SF was going to take 2.28.48 ad it actually took 3.10.00. Can anyone offer any insight into this as I would like to get an accurate timing output so that I know when to come back to my workshop to rby NelsonRap - Skeinforge

Are you using Skeinforge if so it's the retract settings under dimension see attachmentby NelsonRap - General
They could get me the 2 small belts but said the 1380 belt they could not get. It's ok I just wanted to make sure I could get spares locally if I broke one. Currently finishing off a full set of mendel bits then i going to print a set of Prusa parts so that I can make one of those since they use less stuffby NelsonRap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Currently printing a set of purple mendel parts complete set should be ready by the end of this week. I will be looking for a buyer for them then. Going to move on then and print a set of Prusa so that I can build oneby NelsonRap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I went to Wilsons this last week and they called there suppliers who told them they can get the 2 shorter belts but not the 1380m one. I can get that one from Australia but only in 6mm which would work. I have been tracking down local suppliers with the idea of building a second Mendel or maybe a Prusaby NelsonRap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
There is a lot of excellent information in the thread that rhmorrison posted the link to. It has helped me get my Mendel printing good quality partsby NelsonRap - Reprappers

What fill settings are you using it might pay to post them. Are you you using Skeinforge to create the Gcode?by NelsonRap - Reprappers
Has anyone found a New Zealand supplier of 5mm pitch 5mm wide drive belts for RepRap mendels?by NelsonRap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I'm teaching myself Solidworks, so that is useful to know that I can import .stl for some reason I couldn't find that information Thanksby NelsonRap - General
I cannot get Solid works to open the .stl files in assembly mode unfortunately. I can open them in eDrawings viewer but not to make an assemblyby NelsonRap - General
Yes think I have it sorted now, thanksby NelsonRap - Skeinforge
I wan to add a G code to tell my mendel to run the extruder before each print as I get better results that way. Can I just a add a M101 line to my start code? My current start code is G21; metric is good G90; absolute positioning G92 X0 Y0 Z0 E0; zero the extruded length axes M109 S220;by NelsonRap - Skeinforge
I'm really confused by that statement, So do I need to set both to 0 or should one be a negative and if so which one? I know I'm being a bit dim here but to me it just makes no sense. I have set retract to 1 and restart to -1 and it seems to be better, still not perfect though, and now the first couple of layers are a bit rough. I guess I could use a raft to fix thatby NelsonRap - General Mendel Topics
Thanks nophead, I just can't quite get good prints at 100% so have taken them down to 90% and that seems to work for meby NelsonRap - General
Will give Clip a tweak as I'm getting similar at the momentby NelsonRap - General Mendel Topics
Just a question that seems to keep popping up for me is should Retraction distance be the same as Restart extra distance The wiki seems to say no but is confusing others say yes, currently I have them different but am getting the blob build up when the extruder starts a new outer layer If they should be the same what would be a starting recommendation?by NelsonRap - General Mendel Topics
I printed a Driven holder for my Mendel at 0.2 this afternoon and it does enfact look pretty good, but looking through those links you posted I might step it up to 0.5 as I feel it might be a little too hollow to be strong enough, but it does look good nowby NelsonRap - General

Mine is pretty well solid, no gaps. Not sure where I got those settings from now but I'm sure its from someone well known. But have changed them to your suggestion and will see how they go.by NelsonRap - General
Talk about dim. Ok I see I forgot the ; as you correctly pointed out. I wanted the comments so that I know what the lines of code actually mean. Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I'm also getting a bit of build up behind the nozzle on infills. Currently have infill solidity set to 1 set to and infill over thickness set to 1.7by NelsonRap - General

There is an excellent thread on this here I suggest you look through the settings from Ohmeye, then have a look at mine under Gary67 as I further tweaked them with help from a few people on IRC chatby NelsonRap - General
I'm running Windows though not Linux and I could not see a windows installer package there, that's why I'm using Repsnapper because it does work on Windows. Not sure if I really have the time to learn Linux as well as learning how to use my Mendelby NelsonRap - General
