I have a new theory which I am going to test later, I'm wondering if it happens when the netbook reaches full charge and then the PSU switches from charge to trickleby NelsonRap - General
Random, the only things in my workshop are a freezer and a file server, the freezer is on a different plug. I'm thinking og getting a UPS for the printer. It is odd though that this only started when I switched to using my netbook from a desktopby NelsonRap - General
It could be without measuring I'm only guessing. I have optos on Gen6 not mechanical switches not sure if that makes a differenceby NelsonRap - General
Yes I can't find anyhting loose at this point still looking though, it does skip for several layers. What it does is mover over a step then other sometimes only 1-2 other times 2-3 and it aways comes back again in exactly the same pattern. It doesn't do it every time which is the frustrating thing, and as I said sometimes on the y mostly on the x though and this is a new thing as it's been printby NelsonRap - General
Ever since I swapped out the old desktop that used to run my Sells Mendel with Gen6 electronics (desktop went PSU failed it was very old) and now run of a Win 7 netbook, I get skipped steps on some prints, not all prints though and sometimes I can print eh same part again and it doesn't happen. I am wondering if my electronics might be on the way out, sometimes its the Y axis other times the X aby NelsonRap - General
Why not just go and buy a belt the right size here in NZ I can buy them from a local bearing supplierby NelsonRap - General
I still slice everything with SF41 the last before sfact. I could never get sfact to be as good, I print with a Gen6 and repsnapper and pronterface with sangio 2 seperate machines and admittedly I only making prusa parts mostly yet using the same set of Gcodes both printers output the same result, ones a sells mendel (gen6) the other a prusa 2by NelsonRap - General

Yes straight off the sanguino,. By using the the thicker 4 or 5mm alu plate I find it's fairly flat well flat enough to use with glass. I have a good supplier who picks out the flattest bits for meby NelsonRap - General
What electronics, and what firmware? I'm in Nelson thoughby NelsonRap - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I use 4 2.2 ohm alu housed resisters to heat 5mm thick alu bed, could do with a few more on it as it takes 20 mins to get up to 60C and I just put a dob of thermal paste on them the stuff you use on CPU heatsinks and bolt them onby NelsonRap - General

Did it again today but only on one of the prints not the second one. Going to try a different USB port tomorrow and if that doesn't solve it am going to drop one of our Sanguino boards on and see about setting up a SD card to print fromby NelsonRap - Reprappers
All of a sudden my printer which is an Original Mendel running Gen6 is stepping over to the right during prints for a few layers then stepping back again. This has happened on 3 prints in a row today and yet yesterday I printed all day without any problems. Running Repsnapper on a Win 7 netbook. Prints are Prusa parts which so far have been printed 50 times without incident so slicing hasn't beeby NelsonRap - Reprappers
