Thanks for the hint. It didn't work unfortunately. The LED still comes on but the extruder doesn't heat. As an experiment, just tried setting the EXT0_HEATER_PIN to HEATER_1_PIN (instead of HEATER_0_PIN) and HEATED_BED_HEATER_PIN to HEATER_0_PIN (instead of HEATER_1_PIN) in the configuration.h file. After that swap, turning the extruder on in the GUI does nothing (aside from enabling LED1). Turby amramsey - Repetier
Alright, I'm a little baffled. I was running the firmware from github commit 2c51c2d. That was roughly version 0.51. I checked out the code about a week after the announcement so it may have had a fix or two beyond 0.51. It was working fine, although yesterday I was having troubles with a print so I decided to upgrade to the newest one (github commit 93ff206). The config file was very similar soby amramsey - Repetier
Those are plated through holes. Soldering on one side will make a connection to the other side so I'm not convinced that will be the problem.by amramsey - General Mendel Topics
The real way to save money is by sourcing it all yourself. Ottawa Fasteners in town has all the metric M3/M8 parts that you need, you just need to put together a shopping list and spend some time in the store picking up the goodies. You can save on the electronics by picking up the PrintrBoard instead of RAMPs + Arduino, or really save by sourcing everything from scratch and building it yourself.by amramsey - Canada, Ottawa-Gatineau RUG
This is fantastic. I'll give this a shot tonight. I'm looking forward to having an LCD on my machine.by amramsey - Repetier

Thanks for the update. Its working fine now. I put in a small order of 8kg with various colours to try out your plastic. I'm looking forward to testing it out.by amramsey - For Sale
Well, I ordered 8kg of 3mm ABS so we'll see how good the ABS quality is. Hopefully it matches tommyc's first impression of the PLA. I'll update here when it comes in.by amramsey - Plastic RepRap Parts for Sale
Your website doesn't accept Canadian postal codes. They contain both letters and numbers, but your web form at checkout only accepts postal codes with numbers.by amramsey - For Sale
Is there a reason why the extruder couldn't be simply run with full steps instead? That gives a step rate of 4800 for 30mm/s. Full steps still give a resolution of 0.00625mm when feeding in the filament.by amramsey - General
Mail order is likely your best bet, although you may be able to use the local hackerspace's Makerbot to print the plastic possibly? (http://artengine.ca/) There are a few 3D printers lurking around Ottawa, although I guess they don't frequent these boards. Your best bet is to get on the artengine/modlab email lists and contact everyone directly.by amramsey - Canada, Ottawa-Gatineau RUG
Ordered from them at the start of the summer and received parts pretty quickly. Parts were nice quality.by amramsey - Reprappers
