Feature request. Hi Enrique, is it possible to make .bfb a valid extension in the file selector for skeinview and possible other modules? .bfb is the native extension for gcode files for Rapman and i allways have to modify the extension to view my gcode in skeinview at a later time than when generated. Thanks!by unfold - Skeinforge
yes I like that time plastic energy argument, just thinking about a general setting. this wont work for small stuff I'm afraid so maybe we need work on a more conservative profile. Anyway, I'm happy about the progress on this front and double happy that my extruder is up and running again after the blue ball of death Actually its happily working on this fancy smiley yellow abs!by unfold - Skeinforge
Bogdan, Whats the reason behind your ultrawide Raft Interface settings? Many straight object lines sink in-between the interface lines. I would prefer a way more conservative setting for general use.by unfold - Skeinforge

Hey, I got some delays on my plan for the ceramic print head. The good news is that the reason is that I have a ABS extruder and that I am still happily exploring the possibilities of that! In short, I am no engineer so developing something totally new is a bridge too far for me but I am working on a syringe tool with which i can explore the properties of the clay (which is more my domain). Hi Enrique, Thanks, I was aware of the fact that I could copy the profiles. I was more generally thinking about making it a bit more user-friendly for new users. They will not really understand that when they change some settings that they change the default profile imo. It would be 'nicer' that Skeinforge would automatically make a copy of the selected 'locked/default' profile when tinkering wiby unfold - Skeinforge
Hi Enrique, Thanks for the effort of expanding the settings! Is there a way to 'lock' the preset settings, prevent them from being overwritten? Would be nice when you change settings on a certain profile, that it would be saved as a copy of the profile for example ABS_UserSettings.by unfold - Skeinforge
Hi Kerba, I did the first two steps of your survey but stoppe because I have a question. I build a bitsfrombytes Rapman which is a Rep(st)rap, a derivative from the RepRap. They have their own forum on which I'm far more active than here. Can I just assume that this falls under RepRap because it's kind of a sub community or do you rather separate and ad another category to the list? Ps. you can pby unfold - General

What exactly are the problems here, is this not just a matter of preference?by unfold - Administration, Announcements, Policy
I have one too, its as close as you can get for an off the shelf Rep(st)Rap! I enjoy it very much but its not a plug and play consumer good yet if that is what you are looking for. It needs love, maintenance and some good old tinkering Their support is very good btw. You can check my photo gallery here: ps. That exploded extruder is a rare caseby unfold - General
I very much doubt that this is really rigid. My experience with various sorts of cardboard learned me that it can withstand a load spread load very well but not a point load. So a rod true a block of stacked cardboard will very quickly wear out the hole it is fitted into. There are definitely some options in regards to using paper/cardboard. For ex. using a paper folded model to pour resin in, caby unfold - Reprappers
Bogdan, that was me yes. And i do think that IT happend after updating skeinforge. Might also be the problem Ian discribed. Il test when my extruder is up again.by unfold - Skeinforge
Aah, Bogdan, now I understand why you mentioned Stretch as a solution to my shrinking inner holes. This is only relevant on roundings... Makes sense, my square outer perimeter was close to the correct size, the small round inner holes were 1.5 mm off.by unfold - Skeinforge
And now comes the guy that shows an airplane getting milled Cool that Matt was hanging around here, and the tests are really nice. Indeed it does not overcome the major problem and that's the positioning when they walk around. Thanks buzz, will give it a try. Here I have an example of a possible use for this app. Im printing 50 small objects without a raft to save material. Problem is that the first 50mm of my prints never sticks because the flow of material is not up to speed. Normally that is the first line of the raft so not a problem at all but now I'm missing part of my perimeter. So I manually added a line to theby unfold - RepRap Host
I'm having trouble with the support material. While printing the support material the extruder stepper goes into higher gear doubling its speed and skipping a lot. The screen on my BfB RapMan reads an extrusion rate of 44.6mm/s. The rest extrudes at 18.8mm/s which is what I normally use. In Gcode m108 switches between 400.0 and 864.0. So I figured that it must be a setting in Skeinforge. Supporby unfold - Skeinforge

Hi Enrique, Nice update! Thanks for referencing those tutorials. On the BfB wiki there is a page that is based on tonys post about solving print problems but we are expanding this with new info. Might be useful to link to the wiki page.by unfold - Skeinforge
Hi, I was asked to print a series of models that show various computational stages of a 3d object. The models a very bulky so suitable for printing, the only problem is overhangs. I have been trying with Skeinforges support setting but cant find satisfying parameters. Anyone has tips on using Support material? Temperature settings for ABS etc. Thanks for the help!by unfold - Plastic Extruder Working Group
