12v fan I meant. I would expect Nopheads Marlin to be sorted for this and would suspect the fan.

Firmware - Marlin
Hi Dust.
I see. That works.
Bit slow! 10 mins for 3.5 Mb but works.
I see Pronterface re-interprets the gcode. ie it has stripped out the comments etc from the original.
Thanks for the tip.
Cheers

RAMPS Electronics
Is it AutoCAD FACETRES variable?
The default is 0.5 which produces clunky circles in the STL export. Setting in to 10 smooths them out.
Maybe you already know this if you used it for a few years as you say . . .

I did ask the question myself reprap pronterface (no reply)
I can't write to SD via Pronsole. I get. "Open failed: file xxx.g
I can list the files on SD and print them when they're on there
I see I can create a file using that M28/ M29
but as for; "you send all gcode commands you want to be in the file"
Its a bit painful to cut'n'paste an entire sliced print into it!
Can use a card reader

RAMPS Electronics
Dunno.
Everything you say seems correct to make it work on variable speed
Is it standard Marlin? Is the board defined as MOTHERBOARD BOARD_RAMPS_14_EFB?
Faulty fan, or not 12v . . . ?! Running out of ideas.

There is a mobile phone app. that can connect via USB OTG cable that can do similar. GCode simulator. I had a quick play but it didn't want to work for me.
A plug in box with jog wheels may be neat (big brass dials for you steampunk fans)

My first thought was infill overlapping percentage
But look at your other walls - they look ok.
I have seen Cura do this before - stopping the infill too short of a perimeter. Try rotating the .STL on the print bed.

Here are my numbers for 100c which are yet different again.
#define DEFAULT_bedKp 96.24
#define DEFAULT_bedKi 1.96
#define DEFAULT_bedKd 1180.22
I would take the word of your PID autotune values.
Do you know that is actually the bed that is causing the runaway? Is it specified?
Runaway is triggered when the temperature drops in relation to heat been asked for.
I would say that a more l

Can you check the X Y and Z are 90° to one another.
If the Y is skewed relative to the X it would oval the print at one corner.

It shouldn't ruin an arduino or RAMPS unless it has +12v on it. Otherwise it should be safe to connect. A short circuit or -ve shouldn't hurt it
MAXTEMP suggest that the resistance is very low.
Maybe you have a short circuit on the thermistor wires or a short to to -ve or a faulty thermistor or the thermistor is wrongly configured in firmware.

I may be wrong but I believe for variable power output you would need a laser with TTL input.
Within Marlin there are options for extruder/ fan/ heatbed on D10/D9/D8
M106 S(0-255) Will output 0-100% on D9
However the PWM output on these (I'm sure you know) work by pulsing the full 12v supply on and off at varying speeds to achieve the power output. In the case of a laser this would be just

PLA is not so 'slippy' as say ABS, in the bowden tube.
A little film of vegetable oil in the tube may help

No problem.
I was just guessing about the fan.
If it is for cooling the hot-end barrel it should be on all the time.
If it is pointing at the printed part then you can experiment with it but for ABS it is not usually needed.

CoreXY Machines
Not specifically a CoreXY thing but . . .
M140 S100 sets the target temperature of bed.
M190 S100 tells the machine to wait for the bed to get to 100
Similarly your extruder instruction should not be M104 S240 but M109 S240 which will wait until it gets to 240 before it starts.
I'm surprised Slic3r doesn't do that for you.

PS if your extruding ABS (240) do you really want your fan to be

Hi.
I usually print from SD card but both card and card slots are getting a hammering from all the swapping.
Within Pronterface I can read the contents of the SD card but cannot write to it - nothing happens.
Has anyone got any tips on this? (Its not write protected before you ask)
Is there an alternative way to read/ write to SD Card over USB?
Setup is ramps/ marlin/ full graphic LCD
Thank

Printrun/Pronterface
How annoying.
I checked again and the above are the only changes I made. That worked for 1.0.3 and 1.1.06.
Good luck with it. It is useful.

Only after a print started, right at the bottom of the 'Tune' menu?
No?

Yeah. Marlin, you mean?
Filament change is not very well documented.
The command shows when printing, at the bottom of the 'tune' menu.
I did this. Not saying its right but it worked for me.
