Hi all, After more than 4 month enjoying this printer, i would say its very good accuracy printer. Last week i print eifel tower, it took more than 30 hours print and its quite hard print because almost 80 percent are pillar (not flat surface). Now the extruder motor was died. I think the gear inside the motor was broken. Anyone know where to buy a very good quality stepper motor to replace theby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants

D8,D9 and D10 was driven by mosfet. See this schematic This mosfet is too close with mosfet terminal, its better those 3 mosfet is not direct solder to PCB, but put them all to big heat sink and solder it using cable to PCB.by flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi thinkyhead, This kind of problem with reprap and other opensource project is what we enjoy and the reason we met in this forum. otherwise we buy expensive box like makerbot. But what i like the most with opensource project is i learned many things from all great people in forum. From your experience, have you modified the Q3 mosfet with other vitamin? I need much stronger vitamin for Q3 mosfby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Anyone has tried to measure the Q3 temperature? What is normal operating temperature? Mine is very hot approx 140 C. According to Q3 mosfet datasheet, it can handled the heat upto 170 degree celcius and Current upto 55 Amp. But why the mosfet is very hot and i measured the current on the heat bed is only approx. 10Amp. I still searching the strongest mosfet and coldest for heatbed. Any idea?by flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Bratan, I was thinking the same case about the fan to blow electronic board. If i put the fan into one of mosfet terminal, I am affraid it will make more heating on mosfet. it will be more safe if i get the source direct from power supply, but i think if I make the fan on power supply position to get near face-to-face with electronic board might be better. this solution will safe the power anby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi David, Yes my heat bed resistance is 0.9 ohm its too low. But its running after 3 weeks with a lot of print. its burning out after 11 hour print uninterupted for quite big print. I think its not only RAMP board but also the arduino board must be blowed by fan. my arduino board also already damage, so we should blow the two board from bottom to up. what is the resistance of your heat bed?by flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Allnei, I ordered on july 2013 and got the makibox on may, its nice box small and compact and every plastic parts is injection moulding, but it has problem with filament feeder. In my opinion im more happy to have replikeo. Its more precise and reliable, other thing all the component is easy to get and cheap. But the bad thing is apperance like a toy crash from the tree (its my daughter saidby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks for the information. Finally, i got the clue what is the problem that make mosfet burned. my heat bed impedance is below than 1 ohm (0.9 ohm). That is why the cable is warm before i changed with silicone cable. is it why heating the bed is so long ? to reach 110 degree celcius it takes 15-20 minutes. sometimes its stop before reach 110 degree if i turn on the Aircon. the heat bed is so weby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Yes, i just changed the cable with silicone cable, its important. What is the normal heat bed resistance?by flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Yesterday, i tried to test reliability this printer. So i print one big thing, its a dome for my multirotor. It takes 11 hour. And i found the problem was heat bed cable is the problem as seen on the pictures and the Q3 mosfet was very hot until melt the mosfet terminal. I changed the cable with silicone cable like this Any one has this problem? Johnby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Allnei, Thank you for the information, i will try the autobed leveling. Last night, I printed 3 hours object (2 pcs spool holder), its finished smooth but after that the arduino is not working. Luckily i still have one arduino spare. Anyone know what is the problem ? if its going to damage but why its finish the job. I start mid night and leave it until finish 3 am, im using timer to switchby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Anyone has tried autobed leveling for replikeo? Johnby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
I just print a camera gimbal for my Dji phantom, but why the result like in the picture attached. There is one layer is not sticky, anyone have this problem? is it because the low quality of filament or there is unstable Z axis step?by flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Greg, Thank you the information, now i decide to have a bigger screen one. I think you right, its better pay extra but surely the shipment go faster, otherwise i am waiting without knowing where is my order now. I just ordered 3 items in one order, but they sent 3 items into 3 different shipping. 1 have track number and the other 2 items no track number.by flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
hi Underthetire, That sounds good, do you think this one will work with marlin ? Cheers, Johnby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Guys, I like my printer now, Anyone has used LCD display ? what is the best and working good in Prusa I3 Ramp 1.4 (replikeo) ? I saw there is some model : 1. Intelligent-Controller-LCD-Control-Board 2. LCD Smart Controller Dispaly I like Intelligent _controller LCD, any has experienced with this LCD ? Cheers, Johnby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Allnei, I mean port is : there is 6 port in end stop (on RAMP1.4), we use only 3 port for 3 axis endstop, I meant from 3 port use for endstop and the other 3 might for other application (i don't know). So I just know this is for : 1) X-(min),2) X+ (max), 3)Y- (min),4) Y+ (max), 5) Z- (min), 6) Z+ (max). Application means such as LCD, or anything to add into the printer> I am using Repetieby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Allnei, Thank you for your suggestion. From my configuration I just change the endpoint Cable position and set the home Y to max. Now it works. I just know the end point Cable position has + and - , I guess its a port for other applications. Cheers, Johnby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Allnei, I change back the configuration as suggested on replikeo as follow : #define INVERT_X_DIR false // for Mendel set to false, for Orca set to true #define INVERT_Y_DIR true // for Mendel set to true, for Orca set to false #define INVERT_Z_DIR true // for Mendel set to false, for Orca set to true #define INVERT_E0_DIR false // for direct drive extruder v9 set to true, forby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi Allnei, Thank you for your advice. So far i dont have any problem with stock carbon fiber yet. Yes, before that i have problem with Y axis, it cannot in home position with replikeo configuration. I reverse the Y motor cable and #define Y_HOME_DIR 1 , but still no luck, until i got #define Y_HOME_DIR -1 . Beside #define Y_HOME_DIR 1/-1, is any other parameter we need to change? Cheers,by flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi, I'm new in this forum. I read this forum and start build replikeo, its works like a cham. But i have one problem, all the print result is in reverse. I just made 2 printing without any single fail. I tried to reverse the X axis (now is + to move to left and - move to right, i want to change in reverse ) but i have home position problem always hit the end stop or left motor. I print z end stby flyrobot - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi, Finally, it works. I made this config like this : #define INVERT_X_DIR false // for Mendel set to false, for Orca set to true #define INVERT_Y_DIR true // for Mendel set to true, for Orca set to false #define INVERT_Z_DIR true // for Mendel set to false, for Orca set to true #define INVERT_E0_DIR false // for direct drive extruder v9 set to true, for geared extruder set to falsby flyrobot - General Mendel Topics
