QuoteValduare Is everybody excited for MRRF 2019? I am going for the first time, driving in from Toronto Canada. very excited about going.by Waltermixx - General
so how did you make out with your printer? was it the acrylic one? i bought that one back in 2014 I think it was, and it still works great today. I added a PLA cooling fan that i can slide in and out of the way when needed. the build wasnt bad at all. It's always a good idea to report back in when requesting advise, so folks know how the story ended. Cheers.by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Hmmmm I will replace them with standard jpg images when I get a chance. I think it's because I did it from my iPhone. Thanks I didn't clue in to the file extension. :0)by Waltermixx - Delta Machines
Work fine for me. Odd you are unable to see them. Perhaps some one else can try? I've posted before with no issues.by Waltermixx - Delta Machines
Hi there I purchased an FLSun QQ printer from amazon. Seems to be a pretty good printer. It has a decent build volume of 260mm diameter and 270mm tall. I just thought I would start a thread on it. It had some wobble in a couple of the rods, and their support team Sent me replacements right away. The also sent me a glass bed as well, which was nice. Waiting to get those. Cheers.by Waltermixx - Delta Machines
a bit late but dont buy the isense mobile scanner... they kinda stop supporting it, get the original ocipital structure sensor. it's still supported, most isense mobile scanners have been locked out of the structure sensor apps...by Waltermixx - 3D Scanners, Book Scanners, and Optics
Thanks for your post, I made sure all my moving parts were smooth moving, and did not rock... i had to make very slight adjustments to the eccentric nuts... and she is pretty much rock solid. Blue Painters tape wiped with rubbing alcohol is by far the best approach to get things to stick to the bed, but i moved on to hairspray on glass as well. My files for the folgertech are posted in the thread. I am not sure I have them on my computer anymore so I'll have a look in the thread. :0) My Hictop CR-10 arrived on Wednesday, built in about 20 Minutes or so. First print and prints since have gone well.by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Ok Pulled the trigger on this one, here is where I purchased it from: I don't know these folks, but they seemed friendly, they responded to my inquiries about shipping almost right away. Fingers crossed.by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi there, I've been away a while, happily printing on my Folgertech Prusa i3 Acrylic 3D printing, and I've gotten the bug to buy and build something larger... I saw the Creality CR-10 watched all the video's and thought this is a good one... Because I'm in Canada and the exchange rate sucks, I will end up paying $518.00 for the printer + 256.00 shipping (price and shipping costs fluctuate, whenby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
I added a downward fan for cooling PLA prints. I basically used the same design for the Auto Leveling servo mount, which I never ended up using, and altered it so I could mount a fan. size limits prevents me from attaching the .stl or the gcode file... here is a link to all my Folgertech i3 pictures:by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Howdy Folks, I'm back... I've been using my makerbot mostly for printing since i got it. I only used my Folgertech when I needed someting done in ABS... well yesterday my makerbot Replicator 2 suffered a pretty bad jam, and i was unable to get consistant results from it without it jamming... new parts on order. In the mean time I grabbed my Folgertech Prusa I3 printer, removed the ABS, fby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Please do a good ole fashioned re-read of this thread. Full graphic smart LCD has been covered and my config file provided, make sure you also downloaded the library file for it as well... Do no replace your configuration.h file with mine, but scroll down to the LCD section so you know which lines to enable...for PLA printing, it's best to have a fan blowing down on your print, see the post abovby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Wow that's a great print... could you provide the link or the thing number for that hot end duct.by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
It's about 6"x6"x6". Pretty cool eh? Not sure I want to add a second extruder yet. I may buy FolgerTech delta printer next. Still on the fence. Need to find a good reason for the wife. Or just tell her it's my Christmas present. It doesn't have to make sense. :0)by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
I just had a read through the new documentation from the Folger Google drive... wow, what a great job, very detailed. wish I had it when i bought mine... tons of detail... should be the first place people goto for answers... it does not cover flashing Marlin, but once the kit is built, and you know where and how your end stops are wired, you should be good to go Good work guys Cheers.by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotemickey Hi I just finish to calibrate my Folger tech printer and I need some help, the one thing I didn't do until now is to adjust the vref of the motor controllers because I don't really understood how do I measure them. is there an option in the host program to read these values? no software option with the RAMPS board, you will need a volt meter. + cable to the actual metal of the tinyby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoterich1812 just curious. On the top of the extruder, looking from the front, there are two holes, I know the one on the right is for the 3mm filament, but what is the one on the left? Is it for 1.75 mm filament? They are both for 1.75 as far as I know. I am using the hole on the left. I switched over when I moved to the threaded hole. :0)by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Oddly enough that is what I posted originally. Then thought no, I better not write that so as not to offend you, as it was covered a few times. He he. So I changed my post to reflect info on the atx power supply. I should have left it as is. I wonder if anyone saw it before I edited it. Either way glad you figured it out. :0)by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
you can use the green wire on the atx power supply to turn the printer on and off with a switch... handier than unplugging it. it's green wire to ground to power up the ATX there is no PSU-On with the folger power supply...by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
my kit had a check list of parts taped to the inside of the box lid flaps... things were checked off the list as the boxes where filled with parts... my kit was missing all printed plastic parts, (so I printed my own from the stl files Folger Tech provided) while I waited for them to send me parts, which they did right away I ended up using my parts because they were a very cool orange... sby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotemikez104 Waltermixx, just wanted to give you a big THANKS! for starting this thread. Without it, I don't think I'd be printing with this printer and would probably just bought a pre made printer like the XYZ or something as my first printer. I'm glad I went down this road. I've learned so much. I learned a ton from this thread as well, and I have to give Dooms101 a lot of credit, I goby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Looks like you need to get closer to the build plate. you should also use hairspray as an adhesive. make sure you properly level your build plate, it will take a while to get the hang of it, dont get discuraged... but you will have to make a bit of an effort... and once you sort it out, it will take less and less time to do it before you print... also, make sure you level the build plate whilby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotethat1guy QuoteWaltermixx Extruded pics . Walter, first of all thank you and everyone else who's contributed to this thread, it has been tremendously helpful! I have a question on the dissassembled extruder pics above. Is that a couple of washers in it, or a bearing (maybe 623zz)? I ask because I don't have anything in mine and am not getting reliable fillament feeds - not surprising sinceby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
Evidently the holes for the nuts on the acrylic frame are designed to be larger on one side than the other to allow you to put the nut in, without it falling out. so if you cannot get the nut in, it could be that you are going in the wrong side of the whole... give it a shot?by Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteKeyserSoze3d What are you guys doing about wires. Mine are horrible. My printer its trapped in a very colorful spider web. I tried to use split loom to cover them and make it look pretty, but the added drag caused me to skip steps and all my parts were slanted along the Y axis. see my pictures for my cable managment... i have a base on mine so it gave me a place to secure wires... see my eaby Waltermixx - Prusa i3 and variants
