If you guys don't know what to do with those 4 roller skate bearings here is a suppppppper cheap spool holder you can make! Mine looks exactly the same when using the Folger tech firmware. I can get it to beep but that's it.

Print problem. Not sure if slicer, or printer? - 11 years ago

Started printing a kind of simple bar that I had to put on the bed diagonally and this is what happened. The outer is the perimeter, then shell then fill. All of them are significantly off. Slic3r and pronterface are being used on an i3. It's printed a nice piece horizontally or vertically just fine, this is the first print that I've done diagonally. Thanks!

Also to add, it would be cheaper to do imperial threaded rod in the states. You just need 8mm non threaded rod for the slides, or print out linear bearings in whatever imperial size you use.

My extruder motor also gets pretty warm. I think its the combination of the heat transfer from the hot end and it's constant moving. I'll measure the temp with an IR on the makerbot at work just to compare the temps. Not sure on filament brand, but looks like a decent one. Quick little print for reference. It's a hot end duct I found on thingiverse. Glow in the dark pla by mg chemicals (bought at fry's $20). 15% infill, no print supports or rafts, .2mm height and 50mm/s. Roughly 2.5hrs to print as my 5th print on this printer. I have yet to adjust the vref's and calibrate any axis, but it's pretty close as you can see. Very please with the way its printing s

Endstop issue. Background: Green wire is facing outward on ramps. Physical locations: X=left stop, Y=back stop, Z=bottom stop. Stock Folger tech firmware/configuration.h besides whats shown below. Anyone use any LM8uu linear bearing alternatives? The ones included lose balls like crazy and are the crunchiest bearings I've ever seen. I'm thinking of getting some 8mm bronze bushings.

Hey guys/gals, I got everything hooked up and electronics all wired, but when I pull up pronterface and try to connect it just reads connecting... forever. Drivers are loaded and in the device manager it recognizes the arduino. Tried all baud rates and tried to connect, nothing. I get a green blinking light on the ramps and a yellow blinking light on the arduino when I put power to it. any t

Just received my kit last friday and barely had time to tinker with it. Mechanically it is all put together and all I need to do is put the glass bed on and wire up the electronics then troubleshoot. One super major tip I can give anyone building this kit is heat up the jam nuts with a candle then shove them into the acrylic. At first I was just trying to muscle the jamnuts into the acryli

This is one serious thread! I ordered a FT i3 a couple of days ago and have been scouring the internet for info and this has to be the biggest nugget on the internet. I'll have to print this thread and read through it as it looks like you compiled a lot of good info!
