I only have 5v power now. I plug in 12v and no display or anything until I plug in 5v usb power. Busy with work so not alot time work on it right now. Think time to take apart and go through step by step again. Have spare ramps and mega. I'll redo everything hopefully in next week.by Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
So I had changed my x axis and while I was homing my z axis lcd went blank. Now - No longer have 12v power. Lcd will come one once I have 5v from usb though. I am able to move axis, but when endstop on z axis is hit lcd went blank again. Possibly bad endstop, would it have fried ramps board if no 12v power? ugh. This printer been nightmare since bought it but determined to get working (again)by Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Perfect thank you. Work on it tomorrow hopefully get it figured out.by Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Ok thank you I will probably change sides of x axis. Is it ok run all 3 axis on min or should 1 be on max? Will try it out this afternoon when can get time work on it.by Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Folgertech Prusa i3 Marlin firmware -see attached config.h When I hookup printer i am able to move axis and have them setup so moving correctly. Endstops: X / Y - optical Z - mechanical Y axis - Back right x axis - right side z axis - right side All hooked up to min on ramps (had guy setup for me and left configured that way) Issue: I home all axis, even if just move axis to and endstop itby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotejrcaster @ Booda If you are getting 0 ohms across your heatbed thermister leads your thermister is somehow shorted. remove the thermister connector from your ramps board and measure again. You can measure this at the soldered connections on the edge of the heat bed. Make sure you don't have anything shorting it out such as foil or anything metal you might be using to shield the carraige.by Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
I just checked resistance off thermistor wires (built in thermistor) and get 0 ohmsby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Really stumped with my bed not heating issue. Have spare ramps/arduino board so hooked it up and getting same issue as before . My bed won't turn on, repetier host heated bed status bar disappears. Was thinking if i had blown mosfet or something that the other board would work. I don't see any physical problems with fuses/mosfets on either board. Tested the new one i got and 12.28 volts (testedby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteMindRealm Disconnect the heated bed from the RAMPS and test the wires going to the bed for resistance. This will ensure that you are not wasting your time trying to get a bad bed working. Post your findings and we'll go from there. Measured resistance and get 0.9 ohms. Should be minimum 1-2ohms is that correct? Not that matter but it is the r1 dual power heated bedby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Ok very strange. I Loaded marlin firmware from Says motherboard board_ultimaker (default). I load up repetier host just to connect and low and behold heat bed option available. I then switch to motherboard 33 (ramps 1.4) recompile and upload sketch. Heated bed option disappears everytime I set motherboard to 33. Tested voltage and getting 12.28v from heat bed to power supply!! Not sure wby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Ran Marlins test code and bed heated up; loaded up default marlin file and was able to get heated bed to come on....no motor controls. Something definitely with the config.h I just cannot figure it out. Hopefully someone be able help out here. repetier host - When i connect the heated bed status bar disappears completely.by Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
I ran Ramps 1.4 test code and my heated bed heats up as it should, Anyone know if on ramps 1.4 led #2 starts solid and then starts to blink. Is this normal? (non test mode i'm talking about) I have attached my config.h file is someone could please review it for heat bed. Ramps test = heated bed working so wonder if it's code issue in config.h!! Annnnny help be greatly appreciatedby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Wow - this thing nightmare. Had to troubleshoot almost everything i've done hahaha!! Anyhow; I've got extruder working / calibrated, all endstops/motors etc working perfect. Next problem - My heatbed will not heat up at all!! (built in thermistor) I soldered pins2-3 together for negative, pin 1 positive - Thinking bad solder joint; if someone could look over config.h setttings make sureby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Hair Not sure if tried but I flashed mine with marlin from folgertech and everything works good, even tested my lcd display Being completely new to this and working for me, if you haven't tried maybe flash with folgers configby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
Received my new Ramps 1.4 board and now have all stepper motors working. Kinda of stumped now, I home x/y axis and hits end stops - Only problem is my X motor pushes endstop over. Also when i try to home my Z axis it just wants to keep lowering and have to unplug. Any idea how I can fix my endstops from being pushed by the motors; and How am I supposed to find home position if the Z motor wanby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
So I finally had some time over the weekend to work on my kit. Everything complete (bit of wiring mess to cleanup later). However i have run into problem and not sure where to go with it. X and Z axis work no problem; Y axis I have nothing. I had set my vref to .550 on Y axis but all others were set to .350 as per new Folger manual. I believe this was same others have posted. I have tried dby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
I started working on my kit last night. As i was watching videos on folgers google drive video had playback errors so Left it for while. Come back to find the manual for the build! Niccccce Having some problems with my bearings not fitting in the x-carriage... I just cannot get them to fit at all. Are these supposed to "snap" into place or set nicely? y axis idler bearing - simple problem butby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
I got my kit today. Really not liking UPS at all - they lost my package at warehouse for four days. Finally went picked it up tonight. Did parts check and bummed!!!!! Was concerned I was going to recieve my kit and expected that triangle mounts or something maybe broken as see in some kits. No biggie however I never recieved 2 Stepper motor mounts, 2 top plates, 4 triangle motor mount bracketsby Booda - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteEasy QuoteSupraGuy QuoteBooda Quotejrcaster I ordered my kit on 17 November, UPS label generated on the first. Here it is the fourth and UPS has not received it yet? WTF! Quotemikez104 QuoteBooda Mikez104 6:40 mark Shows that only top two pins used for end stops. I am new to this but noticed on your pics using all 3 pins. Is yours the way I'm supposed to hookup? I'm just reading and watching everything I can on prusa i3 builds. Maybe I'm reading and watching too much? I have ordered my kit just waiting for to ship; this thread will be my main reference.
