QuoteNukedWorkerFinal question. Do you have a link to that spool holder as well? Here you go. I printed it last night, exactly what I was looking for.by boy09 - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteMindRealm One of the first replacements I made on my FolgerTech Prusa i3 was the extruder. I printed THIS ONE and never looked back! It uses the parts from the stock extruder, plus a couple screws and a spring. It puts sufficient pressure on the filament and facilitates filament changes and clearing of jams. I have made several mods to my printer - take a look at the linked photos in my sigby boy09 - Prusa i3 and variants
I've been printing mostly with blue Hatchbox ABS from Amazon with zero issues. I decided to order some black ABS, but the day I looked on Amazon, black Hatchbox ABS was $36 for some reason (all other hatchbox spools were ~$22) so i decided I would roll the dice on some black ABS from 'Filament Outlet'. In hindsight, probably not a great idea... When I try to print with the black ABS, the firstby boy09 - Prusa i3 and variants
Haven't run a print yet, but that seems to have fixed the issue. Mine was doing the exact same thing as yours. And now that I think about it, it makes a lot of sense why front left is 0, 0 and not 200, 200..by boy09 - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotecrspencer00 Hi there. I just got my kit and have it all assembled and working mechanically. When I try to print out a part, it homes, warms, and then travels the xy corner and purges filament. I saw someone on here had the same problem, but there wasn't an explanation as to how they solved it. Any suggestions would be welcome! Thanks. I was never able to figure it out. QuoteErraticDecay Greetings everyone, I've been lurking here for quite awhile until my printer arrived, which it did yesterday. It's now built (quite a bit of cleanup on wires to do yet) however, I just used pronterface to manually head both the bed and hotend to validate they're working. Set the hotend to 185 (pronterface's recommendation for PLA) and after about 15-20 seconts @ what appeared tby boy09 - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotexhamburglarx Do the linear bearings need some sort of lubrication? I seem to have a rattle coming from the X Axis bearings. This crossed my mind last night too, I get some not-too-pleasant sounds coming from the X and Y axis bearings from time to time, but it still seems to be running smoothly My biggest concern right now is my extruder and x-axis steppers are getting VERY warm. QuoteHairLikeFrodo If you guys wouldn't mind I've been having some trouble getting the config right, would you be able to post your configuration.h files so I can compare? See the github link vonnieda linked back on page 29 of this thread. Has a link to Waltermixx's and Doom101's configuration.h files.by boy09 - Prusa i3 and variants
I downloaded the latest version of Marlin and Waltermixx's Configuration.h file. Is there an easy way to insert the configuration.h file into the latest version of Marlin? I'm guessing Waltermixx's config.h is from an older Marlin version so it returns some errors when you try to compile. Is there any way to make it work other than manually going through config.h and matching all of Waltermixxby boy09 - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoterz90208 @boy09 - jittering stepper usually is a wiring issue. use a multimeter to find the pairs. Low or no resistance indicate a pair, open circuit indicates its not a pair. Pairs go next to each other in the 4 pin connector. Also try swapping the stepper drivers. Switched out stepper motor drivers and tha did the trick. Now that that's fixed, I tried to run me first print (20mm calibratioby boy09 - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteboy09 Finally got everything set up and I'm trying to make sure everything is working for my first test print. Everything seems to be operating smoothly except the extruded stepper motor. I try to feed the filament and it feels/sounds like the stepper motor is in a bind. The stepper motor just kinda oscillates back and forth about 1mm. Anyone else had a problem like this?
