Seems that I have solved my own issue! My Y-Axis belt has always been a little loose, however it never seemed to produce problems of any sort that I could notice. Well, since I had the printer disconnected earlier I decided to throw a tensioner spring on the belt and make it extra tight and that seems to have solved it completely! My print quality is great now, no more circle issues and just theby Apple- - Printing
Hello, everyone. I am having a problem with my Prusa i3. It seems that sometimes when circles or rounded lines are supposed to be printed, they either come out square or extremely wavy in shape. This has been an issue for a while but I have just been able to brush it off for the most part. I have attached two photos that you can compare to see what I am talking about. One photo is of the Repeby Apple- - Printing
Is there any reason my heated bed takes forever to heat up? Like, it physically feels like it gets hot very fast, but the readings take forever to go up. Possibly a misplaced thermistor I assume.by Apple- - Prusa i3 and variants
Hey, everyone. My only problem I seem to be having with my printer now is that my Y-Axis motor grinds quite badly when printing. Here's a video. It should be quite clear when the grinding is happening. It is much louder in person. I can't think of any reason why this is happening. It is the biggest stepper motor, if that has anything to do with it. It doesn't have any effect on the prints, it'by Apple- - Printing

Hey everyone! Extremely pleased to announce that I have solved my extruder issues! The issue was actually a loose screw on the gear inside the stepper motor. Here's a picture for a better look. Just gave it a nice tighten and everything is golden! Will still probably print a new extruder soon, though.by Apple- - Reprappers

Hey, everyone. I posted another thread here about extruder issues I am having with the printer. Here is a video. If you listen very closely, you will notice that when I tell the printer to extrude it makes this squeaky slipping noise and no plastic comes out. I have to actually push (quite hard as you can see in the video) to get any plastic to come out. The guide says to set the voltage on tby Apple- - Prusa i3 and variants
I can't seem to extrude ABS either strangely. What do you all recommend I do?by Apple- - Reprappers
Here is a video of my issue. I boosted the voltage to 3.75 just to be safe and nothing changed. You have to listen very closely, but when I command the extruder to start extruding, you hear this repetitive squeaking noise for the entire duration of the extrusion. You then see me pushing down the filament with my hand (and I have to use quite a lot of force!) and doing that makes the filamentby Apple- - Reprappers
Hey, everyone, I just got done getting everything set up for my new Prusa i3 I recently built. I'm really only having one big issue (aside from some bed leveling issues), which is that the extruder doesn't seem to be pushing out filament. I can get it to push filament, however, I have to manually give it sort of a "boost" by pushing down on the filament from the top of the extruder to get itby Apple- - Reprappers
Quotekrwynn Looks like you have everything upside down. Nut traps and x-carriage for sure are. They don't need to be in all the way. Also, if you would have watched the videos I suggested, particularly part 17 you'd see how it should look at this point. In a way i'm bummed because this was already available when I got my acrylic version (that I just got in the mail today), but oh well! I probably wouldn't have upgraded the bed anyway.by Apple- - Reprappers
Hey, everyone, I have a sheet of 8x8 PEI for my Prusa i3 bed. I was told there is a certain type of tape that I need to hold it to the glass but I can't find it anywhere. Could someone link me to the cheapest stuff I can use that'll work well? I'm stingy haha. Thanks so much!by Apple- - Reprappers
I ordered their acrylic model, and then saw this one. Got a little official word on their differences. QuoteDan from FolgerTech Print quality is going to be identical. As for the differences, the aluminum is going to be a sturdier printer, and easier to upgrade and modify. The acrylic is nice looking but it's a bit harder to upgrade and requires more parts, where the new printer you can just exby Apple- - Reprappers
Should I use the supplied version of Marlin? I do plan to set up an auto-leveling bed as one of my first projects, and I heard you have to upgrade your firmware before doing that. Is that true or should I just use what is supplied in the google drive?by Apple- - Prusa i3 and variants
I'm supposed to be getting this kit in the mail tomorrow and I have to say i'm quite excited! I'm completely new to 3D printing but i'm a quick learner and I don't think I will have too many issues getting it up and going. Since i'm a noob is there any advice from people who have bought this kit to lend me? Any initial tips or anything for the building process or setup? Anything would help!by Apple- - Prusa i3 and variants
