A quick question guys, where can I find Pearl white abs or pla in USA? I have been looking but not finding USA supply.by kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotetherippa QuoteUncertainty Hi all, Last time I posted on this thread I was probably on page 10 or so. I had built the printer successfully and then didn't really use it. I hooked everything back up a couple days ago and started printing a whole bunch of tests and cubes. I notice that my print surface gets rough and has some gaps on the infill. I could be wrong but it seems to do this when tby kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants

Thought I found a close one but didn't fit animoose's parts that are reworked for leadscrews. Got a link handy? Make sure it lines up with the holes on your extruder. Quotesrcga Hi kn4ud, rippa, You guys mind sharing some slic3r tips on PETG? I see you mention lift.. did not try that, going to do it myself. I am having stringy hell right now Sonny I have auto-level in place now via servo.. love it.. let me know what I can do to help. Don't even bother trying to get the 5v bus on the stock folger to power the servo as-is. You'll need to wire up a separatby kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotewoodknack Hey KN4UD......... Good idea for tightening up the nut on your lathe chuck. If mine are like that, I'll do the same on my lathe. I had a small cnc mill a few years ago that had a brass lead screw nut that was split on one side and had a screw going from one side to the other on the bottom of the nut. If you started to get back lash you could just tighten the nut a little. Do you hby kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotetjnamtiw Quotewoodknack Quotetjnamtiw I'm on the fence with this one. Clearly you are one of the more knowledgeable gurus here so I respect your opinion. The Z axis is the least used axis as far as cycles go. Yes, movement must be accurate to have accurate layer thicknesses. However, the lowly threaded rod, once calibrated, should yield accurate movement. The X carriage and extruder asby kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotetherippa Quoteanimoose I think this is where the tensioner came from: . I printed it ages ago, so I am not certain. One thing to note is that you have to pick the length of the on the movable side carefully or else it gets in the way. I used a M3x12 with three washers to get it exactly right. Probably M3x10 would work, I just didn't have any to hand. Whoever designed that and submitted theby kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
Guys I am trying to figure out on this print of tracks for the grand kids tank out of 12 tracks it appears that 2 of the tracks got some light bridging on the drive opening. I did this print using sd card and s3d. I am printed 12 more but from the computer and got none of the bridging on the tracks. the Bridging was easily removed but I can't figure out why it happened. Quotetjnamtiw That's great, rippa! Is that cube on thingaverse? I see so many different ones, I don't know which one to use. I see you like Harbor Freight too. [email protected] Can anyone shed some light on how I center my bed better? It acts like I need to mount the endstop farther back but how? Maybe these pictures will help: It looks like your end stop is hitting the bed and not the bearing retainer under the bed. I t should be laying almost flat. Also the mount is on backwards. Quotetherippa Just a little heads up - the bearings Folgertech gave for the Y-axis belt are crap and may fail after printing a kilogram of filament... I just found this out myself. Just got through doing a 5 + hour print and near the end got to hearing a strange noise in the Y axis, put my fingure in the idler and could feel it. Quoteanimoose Very nice! Small interior diameters is a common issue. You can print with an extrusion multiplier slightly less than one to help (I've used 0.85 or 0.90 a few times). I have been playing with this issue too, I have not played with the multiplier but I am going to give it a try. I have been drawing up test circles to check diameters. If I want an 8mm hole that will give a good snugby kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
I have been looking hard at Simplify3D and was just curious if it is worth the $150 price tag. I see alot of nice prints from therippa that I can not do with the oem software or eather I am not using it to the full potential. I have been on s3d site and have been reading and watching videos. You certainly do have your unit dialed in, great job. For the past 4 days I have been playing with some esun PETG and I think I have about got it dialed in, still have some cat hair strings but it is getting better. I got my 8mm threaded rods today but my bearings have not got here yet. .by kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
Very nice print therippa, what filament did you use?by kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
This is my attempt at printing somthing other than the 10x10 test cube out of PETG. This stuff is pretty and shiney but a real pain in the butt to get dialed in especially for me not sure of what I am doing. This is a lower Z support with added bearing support for modified 8mm threaded rod. This is probably a waste of time but I thought I would give it a shot.by kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants

Thanks therippa for telling me how to post the images. This shows some of the mods and the first print which was .5mm wall square with abs at 205c on extruder and 105c on the bed. I will try to make some better pictures on the complete unit. I still have to add 2 more braces but have ran out of sheet metal but going to pick up some tomorrow.by kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
Well I am up and running (second time) . I put it togeather first and found some problems I thought needed changing. The vertical Z axis rods did not align properly, the X axis rods needed a stop to keep them from slipping inwards after tension was applied to belt. Motor mount bearings did not align properly. The Y axis rods had some runout when turned in the mounts. I felt it needed some bracesby kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
Got my 2020 yesterday, did inventory and everything was there . Checked the ramps board and found 1 solder bridge that if it was connected would have gone up in smoke and possibly taken the Arduino with it. I decided to make some checks on some known problem areas. Quotehobbes Quotearxidon Hobbes I believe the estimated delivery is the time from when they receive your order to when they are able to ship it. After that the shipping time depends on where you live and such. That's incorrect. It represents an approximated timeframe for when the package can be delivered, without unforseen delays. I've always recieved the package on, before, or just a day afterby kn4ud - Prusa i3 and variants
