Quotetherippa QuoteBert3D So I upgraded to the latest marlin code posted earlier in this topic, and now by bed won't go much above 85 or 90 degrees, and takes much longer than before. Has anyone fixed this? What's the trick? Also, is the throat on the extruder a 26mm or a 30mm? Re-run the PID autotune for the bed. I had the same problem until I changed the thermistor settings in Configuratioby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
I was looking at some on makerstoolworks. It looks like they have lead screws with 1, 2, or 4 starts with delrin nuts. That's the only one I've found with 1 start lead screws so far.by Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
I've got a question for those who have upgraded to the 8mm lead screws. It seems everyone is using 4 start screws with 8mm lead. Have you had any problems with the Z-axis falling when the motors are disabled?by Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
I've re-done the bearing blocks for the Y-axis. It was taking a while to level the bed with the stock ones. The springs at the front of the bed had to be compressed nearly all the way and the back ones were barely compressed. I also made them a little shorter. Now the belt carriage is more inline with the belt and it gives me a few mm on the Z-axis. I also had to make an alteration for the Y-axisby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteMorrobotz So I have skimmed the bulk of this thread and feel I should just come out and ask. FYI: I am working in ABS plastic at 230c I just finished building my 2020 aluminum Folger Tech Prusa i3 and worked out a chunk of issues I am having but every time I come up with a solution it becomes a little more clear to me that the configuration.h file is not at all meant for this model or whatby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
I tried "heat treating" a piece on the heated bed with a box over the piece as suggested on another thread. It made the part worse. Layers seperated and the top of the part expanded.by Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
I haven't had much time to work on my printer in the last week, but the extruder seems to be working well again after disassembling and reassembling it. I am now trying to print with ABS. I tried printing some of the Y Axis bearing holders (there seems to be some variation in height on the ones the kit came with), but I am having trouble with the parts cracking and layer delamination. I am prinby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotedbrewski Quotemel0n QuoteLagomorph I'll look into that. How did you attach yours? Do you leave off the heatsink and attach it like the stock hot end or do you need something else to hold it? I made one of these : It has a couple issues, and I am working on improvements, though for now, it seems to be working pretty good. read earlier in the thread for more information. I posted a bunch iby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants

My printer is still not printing well and is jamming up a lot. I was having problems with the hotend thermistor reading much higher than it actually was. I used some muffler sealer to get better contact between the thermistor and the brass tubing it sits in and that has helped a little. When I read the temp with the multimeter probe it's only about 5 deg. C less at the heater block, but at the noby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotemsaeger Accidently broke a blade off the cool block cooling fan it was too loud from being unbalanced to use at all so I replaced it with one from a external cd-rom enclosure. This new one is so much quieter than the one that came with I wonder it it's moving enough air. How would I know if it's not cooling enough? I did that too. Twice actually. The first time I broke the fan, only one blaby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
I heard back from Folger today. They're going to send out a replacement for the damaged rail. Last night my extruder jammed. It seems to be a problem with the thermistor. I set the temp for 220 deg. and when I checked it with a multimeter and temp probe it read about 160. Could the thermistor be shorted or not in good contact? The covers on the leads (is that PTFE?) have come out of where the bby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
[email protected] Got my kit today (ordered on July 12th). Ran into problems first page says to use pan head screws but they fall through the brackets for the bed idler pulley brackets . I used the 8 mm socket head screws instead and pressed onward. I have the base built but out of time tonight. It seems they are just pulling whatever parts they have that are close. Quotesk8 Received my package completely smashed, looks like it was run over by something. Still got my printer completely built, but when following the config guide when I try to home the x axis it doesn't want to move more than a few inches. With manual control it doesn't want to move to the right, did I get a bad board? What could the problem be? I checked all my wiring multiple times and everyby Lagomorph - Prusa i3 and variants
