Okay I haven't noticed it but ill check tonight. Also I meant I can't turn it when it's off and unplugged. But thanks for all the responses. Will check back.by meeuuch - Printing
First of all, I'm very new to all of this. To be specific , my filament is not being extruded. I removed the fan on the extruder and saw teethed wheel ( not sure what its called). I tried to spin it but it wouldn't budge. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. What I wanted to know if it was possible to maybe click something on the frontier software so that it could make that wheel turn the sameby meeuuch - Printing
Hey guys, I'm new to printing and I bought one of these 2020 i3 folger tech printers. The only Issue I am having is that the left stepper motor will spin for a bit while it's moving up or down, but then it will start to stutter and then reverse its direction. It seems that adjusting the screw on the ramps board will fix the issue for a bit but then it will return back to its normal stutter issue.by meeuuch - Prusa i3 and variants
Well, I don't know whats going on with this motor. I turn the screw on the ramps boards and I turn it to a point where both motors will start to spin in the same direction. But sometimes the motor on the left just stutters and even changes directions some times. Don't know what to do.by meeuuch - Printing
I don't know how to do that so ill research. But ill tell you this : when the printer is off power: the stepper motor when connected to the cable is rough to turn. But when I take of the cable it spins freely. Is this normal ?by meeuuch - Printing
One of my stepper motors (z axis control) wasn't turning at all. I started messing with the screw on the ramps board to control the volts and it started rotating. The only issue is that it seems to be rotating slightly fast than the left one and also, if I touch it, it starts rotating the other way. I can also hold it it and it will stop rotating, versus the other one which will start making sounby meeuuch - Printing
Thanks for helping me out!!!! So I've been messing around with the small crews on the board and then as I was turning it the motor started turning again. But it'll turn for a bit then it locks up then it starts again. No matter where I turned the screw it did this. Do you think it is the motor or do you still think its the board? I tried doing what you said for checking the motor but I was not suby meeuuch - Printing
I'm new to all of this. I'm trying to tune my stepper motor. Does anyone know what they should be reading on the multimeter?by meeuuch - Prusa i3 and variants
First and foremost: I'm new at 3d printing, I know nothing about electricity and what not. I bought a folger tech kit prusa i3, assembled it, ran into a lot of problems, which I solved. Finally I found a problem that I can't solved. My stepper motor (one of the two on top that control z axis movement) doesn't work right. It jitters. I was told that it maybe the voltage. So I bought a multimeterby meeuuch - Printing
I made sure all wires were correct. Homing on xy and z axis are perfect. I click each and extruder moves till it touches endstop. My issue continues to be with the slicer itself: when I slice, object is shifted and partially out of printing area.by meeuuch - Printing
i appreciate your reply but: 1) I followed a guide and the guide told me the order and they said the cables had to be in the order of red black and green (top to bottom) and If I flipped them I could cause perm damage. I haven't tried changing the order of the three though. 2) How would improper endstop plugin cause the slicer program to move the file after slicing (before printing)by meeuuch - Printing
I also wanted to add that my solution has been (so far) to place the object to the left most of the bed, then slice it, which places the object around the center of the bed, but then the printer printer prints it on the right side (some hangs off)... my X endstop is located so that it is activated when the nozzle is directly over one mm off of the right of the bed.by meeuuch - Printing
I'm new to 3d printing, very new. I bought a folger tech 2020 prusa i3 and successfully built it. I connected it to my computer, downloaded repetier with slic3r and have run into so many issues. At first the extruder was pushing the filament outwards, I flipped the cables on the board, and that was fixed. But now my issue is that my prints are not being centered. I center them on repetier, but whby meeuuch - Printing
