If I'm in the wrong thread, let me know but, this topic is as close to my issue as I could find. I'm a very lost rookie. I level my bed manually but, the extruder crashes into the bed every time. Very frustrating. Can someone tell me where and what I need to adjust to prevent this problem? Firmware is Marlin 1.1.8, Arduino 1.8.5, and Cura 15.04.3 Garryby rowdyjoe - Reprappers
1. These were set to "True" and I changed them to "False". Dust, Thanks again for the reply. When I send M119 thru Repetier Host, all axis show triggered but, all axis will move in one direction only. x_min: triggered y_min: triggered z_min: triggered I don't know how to "trigger the endstop" to see if it helps. Now when attempting to manually move the axis I get these reports/errors .... echo: endstops hit: z:6.02 echo: endstops hit: Y:66.89by rowdyjoe - Reprappers
This started as a simple (?) correction to a nozzle/Z axis miss-alignment but, has turned in to a reprogramming headache because I don't know what I'm doing. A couple of days ago I updated the software in my MibBot (clone) i3 Prusa but, my steppers are only working in one direction now ...and movement is limited. It's like the machine thinks the bed is offset and opposite directions appear toby rowdyjoe - Reprappers
Thanks Mike. I got it fixed with much newer versions of the software. My problem now is getting the steppers to work in all axis. Right now, they each only work in one direction but, that's a topic for another post. stillby rowdyjoe - Reprappers
OK Dust, You put me on the right track and the compile and upload went fine. I now have my LCD back. Now wrestling with axis motion but, that's a another post. Thanks a lot ! RJby rowdyjoe - Reprappers
Thanks Dust, Wow, am I confused. I've been getting Marlin and Arduino release dates mixed up. Maybe I need to take a break from this thing. ??? Gonna start over with the latest release for Marlin. Looks like Arduino is OK at v 1.8.5. OOOOPs ....wait a minute. I've tried that version but, when I drop the configuration.h file in the compiler tells me the version is too old. I'm not a programmer and I'm not sure about anything I've done so far. Here's a newb question. How do I correct this error and complete the compile and upload? When attempting to compile, it stops with the following error "exit status 1 using typedef-name 'fpost_t' after 'struct' " . Ax Garry - check the Migbot Wiki page there's info there. Basically I'd advise looking at the SN04-N NO sensor as it's plug and play and doesn't need to have a voltage divider. This is what comes with the Migbot if you take the Auto level option. As such on the file repository (linked in the wiki) there's a mount for it, so it's just print and go after flashing the correct firmware and setting thby rowdyjoe - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks Ax. I'll check it out. Haven't got my printer "printing" yet as bed temp is still not up to par for ABS. Still working that issue. I replaced the power lead from the PS to the MB and that wire is no longer getting warm/hot but, the power lead from the MB to the bed is getting pretty warm. Replacement of that lead and insulating the underside of the bed are next on the "fix" list. Iby rowdyjoe - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotecmaet Hi fellow Migbot users. I just installed an optical levellig sensor from Pibot. Bed leveling works great, detects glass surface, Using a screwdriver detecting distance can be set from cca 1mm to more than 10mm. The problem is that if I enable auto bed leveling (by adding a G29 command in my starting script), printer starts printing off center for the distance, that the auto bed levelinby rowdyjoe - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks guys. Your advice helps. I've been a bit busy the past few days and have not been able to address the problem. Hopefully, I'll be able to attempt your solutions tomorrow. BTW ....my printer has an aluminum plate for a hot bed that is .160" thick. The thickness seems a bit excessive to me but, I doubt it will warp. Any opinions on the thickness of the material and the material itselfby rowdyjoe - Reprappers
I am brand new to 3D printing and I have purchased an Electron 3D Prusa i3 printer kit (Migbot clone). Yesterday, I was able to get the computer talking to the printer via Reptier Host (firmware is Marlin) and I have control of the machine. However, the heated bed will not come up to temp. The desired temp is set at 110C but, the bed won't get any hotter than 90C (indicated). I'm not sure ifby rowdyjoe - Reprappers
Just ordered the Electron 3D from 3Dprinter online (no upgrades) and looking forward to the challenge of making it work. Thanks for the info and wisdom you folks share here. I'm sure I'll find it very useful as I am brand new to 3D printing.by rowdyjoe - Prusa i3 and variants
