Quotesonnylowe Quotetherippa sonnylowe - you still thinking of upgrading the controller? I ran out of things to do on the printer and have been looking into the MiniRambo. Haha...yup!!! I've checked out the Rambo, but not MiniRambo, I guess I know what I'll be doing at work today LOL To be honest, I find myself looking at the Prinrbot board more and more, it seems like a good board at as reasoby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotesonnylowe Well I had some printer downtime tonight so I decided to install the Gen-2 Offset Belt version of my Y-Axis upgrade. Here's a couple pix and a short video of it homing. I have used a lot of force to try to get the gantry to wobble, shift, sway, pitch, roll, yaw, move in any way other than right down the rail...I am happy to say it is as stable as the center belt version, but we allby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteUltiFix Yay, printer just showed up! After being delayed in the awful snow storms. Oh well it's here! Nothing more, nothing less! Quotesonnylowe Quotepeeejayz I got my leadscrews through today, the nuts have a bit of play in them is this normal? Do I need to antibacklash them? I havn't needed it on the m5 rods yet. I've seen the same issues with all the LS nuts I've bought so far, my guess is they are cheap and out of tolerance, or I've just been unlucky...three times in a row ;-) It's the reason I made the anti-backlashby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants

Quotesonnylowe For those interested, I just published the X-Axis (Gen-1) upgrade to THINGI Big thanks to the therippa for his comments and remixes. I have also updated the Wikia page. I have the X-Axis Gen-2 running on my printer and love the setup, so smooth and so compact. Although it works great for a Bowden Hotend, I am trying to come up with a suitable design for a Direct Drive Extruder fby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotemarkts Quotesonnylowe As far as printing a mount, once you find one you like you might be able to find a local printing service at 3Dhubs There are three with-in 20 miles of me Many people here are using the E3D Hotends with the FT Direct Drive setup, so you should be able to get some advice, or maybe the search in my sig can find it for you!?!? Anyone had muck luck with TPU here on the stock extruder and hot end? It prints fine, I'm getting a rough finish. which I need to try and resolve. Also the hot end holding the temperature. I cannot get it to hold 220 while printing this yet ABS it does 230 fine. It just keeps dropping to something around 200 which is uselessby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Tonight played with some Sainsmart TPU filament, and I'm impressed. Worked perfectly on the Folger with stock extruder right off the bat. Just down the speed to about 25mm/s and done.by peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotesonnylowe QuoteUltiFix QuoteBert3D Quotepeeejayz Quotesonnylowe Quotetherippa So I just ordered a BLTouch to replace my inductive sensor, would someone mind updating the wiki page with the basic instructions? Anyone got a recommended inductive sensor, Mine just arrived and its to big to fit into any of the brackets I've printed. I got the 8mm sensing one.by peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteUltiFix Quoteanimoose The frame is definitely rigid. A few people have added extra corner brackets, but I don't think it is necessary. I have not used ABS (the hottest I've gone is for PETG). Again, there are people on the forum who have used ABS, and I think some of them found it necessary to put the printer in an enclosure. Quoteelkayem QuoteUltiFix P.S. What quads do ya fly? I run a CX-20/Nova (which has been pretty much rebuilt) and a custom F330. I have a taranis to 3D printed, of course! See the picture below. QuoteGrouchoDuke I just finished my build (minus wire tidying) and did a smoke test. It didn't go so well. One of the drivers died just after I plugged the printer in for the first time. Just as a reminder to everyone that you should be careful with things, here's the video: Here's the driver afterwards: When I was building the printer, I checked to make sure there was solder on all the pinby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants

Quotetherippa QuoteBert3D Quotetherippa Here is a picture from the back and of the holes I drilled into the folgertech bed plate (and you get to see the sassy towel I use when working on the printer so I don't scratch the kitchen table): The new endstop works well (if someone is going to build the y-axis, let me know and I'll give you the STL). Quotesonnylowe Well I finally got all my hardware and had a chance to put the printer back together. So far the new X (V-2) setup is a winner!! I like it much better than V-1, much more compact, and it will allow a smaller enclosure if I decide to go that direction...and no more X-motor hanging off the side!!! My main objective with this verison was to make the setup more compact which resultedby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotefluffybunny Hey everyone, I am considering getting this kit but I have a question about one of the parts. I am wanting to avoid acrylic on any parts on the printer and thats why I was going with the 2020 printer but I noticed in the build there are some acrylic parts, I see the rod holders and the electronics holders, is this the case?
