Can you suggest the proper placement for the cores? Which wires might be contributing to this problem?by nkuck - General
Good thought, but the problem shows up on two displays but not the third one. So my guess is that it has something to do with the actual display.by nkuck - General
I am running a Melzi board on my printer and am experiencing display issues. I have three “identical” reprap full graphic boards; one works great but the other two display odd pixels on the screen. The stray pixels are random, but I can’t get them to disappear, except on one of them. I tried different cables, but nothing works. Running marlin bug fix 1.1.1. Anything else I could look at? Thanks.by nkuck - General
I have gone through all (most?) of the suggestions to eliminate the pixelation shifts that I see on my display, with some improvement but no complete fix. The attached video snippet shows the issue. Running the latest bug-fix version of Marlin on a reprap machine and a Melzi board. All works well on a srd lcd display. Anyone have a proven remedy? Thanks.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
Hi, is it possible for you to provide me with the modified Marlin fw that would allow me to power a RepRap Full Graphic Display with my Melzi board? Thanks.by nkuck - Sanguino(lolu)
Ok, got the movements where I like them, but still struggling with the z-height from bed. It may end up being my inductive probe/mounting, or an offset setting. Continuing to investigate.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
Close, but I will try to adjust. Thanks for all of your help.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
Ok, you got the nozzle to the left front corner of the bed. Thanks. The nozzle is a little too high; air printing. Now how do I set the coordinates for a 3-point ABL?by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
G28 send all to endstops. The nozzle is positioned off the bed to the front left, approx X45 Y0 (Y in line with front edge of glass). LCD reads X0 Y0 Z-1. Bed is 210 x 210 x 210.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
First test print started in right rear corner with the nozzle about 4.2mm above the bed. ABL didn't seem to perform well, if at all. Probed at X105 Y130, X102 Y 94 as best I could witness. Any suggestions about what to tweak? Thanks for the help.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
OK, I think that I have all necessary changes made, but unsure of the following: #if ENABLED(AUTO_BED_LEVELING_3POINT) || ENABLED(AUTO_BED_LEVELING_UBL) #define PROBE_PT_1_X 80 #define PROBE_PT_1_Y 80 #define PROBE_PT_2_X 250 #define PROBE_PT_2_Y 80 #define PROBE_PT_3_X 250 #define PROBE_PT_3_Y 210 I have not been comfortable identifying these probe point coordinates. I am starting with a fresh copy of BugFix 1.1 With the following enabled, Home All stops at each end stop. #define BED_CENTER_AT_0_0 When I send G0 X0 Y0, X is about 60mm toward the bed center from the left edge of the bed, or 190mm from what it thinks is 0. Y is about right at 108mm from front edge toward the center. Am I on the right track? How do I get it to properly center before I attempt thby nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
Here is my Configuration.h file where I left it out of frustration. Thanks for a cursory review.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
Should I enable the 0,0 at center of bed option in Marlin?by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
I have quite unsuccessfully tried to implement auto bed levelling on my Cartesian printer many times. I suspect that I now have my Marlin 1.1.8 FW pretty messed up. My main issues are with understanding probing point coordinates, and z offset. If I were to load a fresh copy, where do I start to configure it correctly? I’m thinking of first starting with manual levelling as I have had that runningby nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
Started getting error when attempting to go back to an earlier sketch to resolve my ABL issues. I now am getting the following error/ Never had this before, and not sure where to look for a solution or sketch change. Arduino: 1.8.5 (Mac OS X), Board: "Sanguino, ATmega1284 or ATmega1284P (16 MHz)" Sketch uses 120910 bytes (92%) of program storage space. Maximum is 130048 bytes. Can you recommend an appropriate probe? It is a Chinese reprap clone. Thanks.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
I believe that I need to get a more sensitive inductive probe in order for the nozzle the be physically below the sensor probe. Currently, I have the orange tipped probe that I have seen commonly on printers. It’s sensitivity has forced me to put it too close to the bed, I think. But I will look at it again. Then your comments would make sense. Thanks.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
Makes no sense to me but I will try it. Thanks.by nkuck - Firmware - Marlin
Can someone explain the best or appropriate way to raise my nozzle a little further away from the bed during printing? The Marlin setup that I have is: #define Z_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 0.35 // Z offset: -below +above Should I change it here or with an offset command and save to Eeprom? I am running an inductance probe and it it positioned slightly closer to the bed than the nozzle. The teby nkuck - Firmware - Marlin

The LEFT probe....is that lefr front or left rear? ETC.by nkuck - Reprappers
Thanks, but from where are you measuring for the 20, 200, 25 and 265 position? 20mm from where, for instance?by nkuck - Reprappers
Thanks, but what I think you are describing is the probe offset from the nozzle, which I have set correctly. I am referring to the points on the bed on which to probe.by nkuck - Reprappers
I have been reading many posts on bed and probe settings. What is never clear is where I am measuring FROM. Example: #define LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 15 #define RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 145 #define FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 20 #define BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION 150 The above Positions are to be measured from where? And should the bed/nozzle be at a certain location prior to taking the measurements? Thby nkuck - Reprappers

Can someone answer this? My current v2.0 Melzi has two terminals for the Z-axis end stop (no markings on the board, but supports a simple single pole end stop switch). My newer board is a V3.0 which has three terminals + - S for the Z-axis end stop. My question, so I don't blow up anything, can I substitute a 3-wire probe (+ - S) on the new board and, if so, what wiring connections? With the singby nkuck - General
