Do you have heat sinks on the driver chips? Did it ever work more or less correctly even once? Check your limit switches. (end stop switches) and make sure they are plugged in correctly to the board. Some connectors can be plugged in the wrong way though I am not familiar with the Folger. I have an i3 also but it is a Sunhokey. Could be a bad driver chip for the Y axis. I tried to access the board with the arduino ide and the serial port selection is grayed out. I get an error message saying "Serial port COM1 not found. Did you select the right one from the Tools ? Serial Port menu?", which is the menu item that is grayed out in arduino. I have had it with this stinkin board. I just pulled the trigger on a Rambo 1.3 board and when I get it, I will stomp this oneby GrowleyMonster - Prusa i3 and variants

At least it comes with build and setup instructions, unlike the nearly identical Sunhokey Prusa i3. And actually I think the GeeTech documentation will be of some help to me with the Sunhokey.by GrowleyMonster - Reprappers

I am still getting my first printer set up properly, ironing all the bugs out. I have already managed to print some actual useful stuff, but it took a lot of head scratching. Support from the vendor was basically zero... not good for a newbie! Mine is from a Sunhokey Prusa i3 kit. I am trying to calibrate my Sunhokey Prusa i3 and I have installed arduino on my Ubuntu laptop. The menu item is still disabled and I dont know how to get in to the configuration file on the printer control board. Anybody have any ideas? Is this somehow locked into a read-only state? I think my Z axis is way off, and feed rate, because I cant get good solid prints when I need 100% infill, and theby GrowleyMonster - Prusa i3 and variants

I just went through the same hassles with my $320 Sunhokey Prusa i3 kit. Open Repetier and try different baudrate settings. That got me going. And switching usb ports. I thing I ended up with 115200 or something like that. It varies with the different boards and maybe with different firmware. Well I didnt understand the calibration thingie but I got the printer working okay. Printed up some useful stuff last night and this morning. I would post a pic but its not exciting to anybody but me and i would have to trim the file size from 2.4MB to 614kB and I dont feel like jumping through those hoops, as busy as I am today. Okay, time for an update. I fiddled around with every single setting I could find, just about, and nothing. Kept getting the same communication time out error even though the app said "connected". Finally I tried a different usb port and I was successful in printing something that looks like a cross between a booger and a hairball that a cat coughed up. Definitely on the right track, now. Wow, thanks for the reply! THATS the way we help noobs on BadgerAndBlade! I figured out I needed to install repetier host, from the supplied DVD which had the windows version of it. Those Chinese are crazy about windows, huh? Anyway, I found the Linux port and installed it, and managed to connect computer to printer. I think I got this thing put together correctly. The display lights up and shows "0" on all three axes, and about room temp, for I guess the hot bed. But it just sits there, staring at me, like, "Hey, stupid, come on, tell me what you want!" And here I sit, staring at it staring back at me, neither one of us actually saying anything, it doing nothing, me just scratching myself, blinking occasionaby GrowleyMonster - Reprappers
