Thank you, thats what I thought, for some reason I was thinking the probe shoud be moving to the nozzle position and then reading when a G30 is done. All is good.by roko - Firmware - Marlin
To add to my question, If the probe offsets are X-20 Y-20 does a G29 record the value that is shown on the LCD with coordinate offsets factored in? For example if the displayed coordinates show X170 Y190 during the G29, the probe will be at X150 Y170, so will the Z value, lets say it is -0.05, be stored in EEPROM as X170 Y190 Z offset is #, or does it get stored as a corrected location with Z ofby roko - Firmware - Marlin
I have a question about G30 and ABL. I have a TEVO Tornado MKS Gen-L board Marlin 1.1.9, BL Touch clone. When I autohome the probe seems to be moved to the center of the bed and the X-Y coordinates reflect the actual nozzle location. I understand that. But when it does the homing for Z, It probes at the current location of the probe, and does not move to the displayed X-Y coordinates, In my casby roko - Firmware - Marlin
Thanks for the replies. I was just asking because I have seen that there are updates available to Marlin. With my current setup I am having no issues, all is working. I bought a piece of borosilicate glass and with a heated bed I don't have any first layer adhesion problems, also my LCD works fine.by roko - Firmware - Marlin
Just a question, I have an FB2020 corexy home built. It works fine with Marlin 1.0. Why would I update to newest Marlin release if it works fine?by roko - Firmware - Marlin
I think the Z stepper wiring depends on the board. I know with RAMPS there are 2 connectors in parallel driven off the same driver plug-in board. Can you move the stepper down all the way physically with no power applied? Using the host software can you manually step the Z axis down until the problem area is reached and check for physical alignment issues? It's possible to have a binding problemby roko - Prusa i3 and variants
I confess I am new at that also, but my question is: Why do you need to autolevel every print? Shouldn't autolevelling one time work and then correct your Z height to be correct for printing thereafter? If something changed physically, I could see why you would repeat autolevel. Not trying to be rude, just curious.by roko - Reprappers
I had a similar problem on my printer. USB plugged in, worked fine, 12V plugged in only, did not work. I had fried my 5V regulator on the Mega 2560 board so it only worked on USB 5v power. This happened when I wired my endstops to my RAMPS. My cable was wrongly wired and I shorted my 5v to ground on power up. (let the smoke out) I was using an old computer ATX power supply which supplies +12V andby roko - Reprappers
