I'm looking at building a C-Bot, I like the idea of the belts not crossing and there is a triple screw variant for the z axis which makes me happy. Cantilever and opposite side screws don't seem that stable to me. Still, printing a few upgrades and bolting it to a solid base helps a lot with stability and print quality. QuoteAccidentalWisdom I have found a few different steel frames for the Prusa i3, thinking of converting my Migbot to steel. Has anyone else done this? If so, have a link? I have yet to find one that includes a space for the LCD panel. I was looking at doing something like this, but you're probably better off looking at building an entirely different printer. A week later and I've solved my issue. Turns out it was the extruder/hotend being all shonky. Got a hexagon hotend + all metal extruder and it seems to be spitting out prints nicely, esp I've managed to get the 20mn cube to print and gotten inaccuracy down to .2mm on all axis. Mind you I had to turn my z speed down to 1 mm/s or it seemed to bind up occasionally. Printed Marvin and he seemed to cby InsaneCheese - Prusa i3 and variants
Ok, so just heating up the hot end and checking the log from Repetier-Host (seems to be the best for being able to see all of this stuff) and if I'm not extruding temps fluctuate about 0.5 of a degree. When I extrude the temperature varies by up to 5 degrees either way at least. I'll have to watch it when I get a chance to run a print, it's late and I get complaints from housemates about the noisby InsaneCheese - Prusa i3 and variants
I've relevelled the bed, and it's still doing more or less the same thing. Literally seems to stop feeding the filament after laying the perimeters. This is the result of printing a 20mm cube.by InsaneCheese - Prusa i3 and variants
Hi guys, I've got one of these printers and I'm having some issues getting it to extrude (after going back to a Zstop from the auto level because the brackets to far out of whack for it to trigger) I'm not home to take some photos, but it seems to lay down the first half of a layer ok and the it just stops extruding. Or it'll leave a dribble of plastic on the bed. And it seems to be chewing ouby InsaneCheese - Prusa i3 and variants
