The layers on my prints have been very bad lately. I'm not sure what has changed from before, but the first layer and all of the layers after that have been printing very thin and not very consistent. I'm not really sure what could be causing it or how to describle it, but if anyobody could help me figure out the problem that they see in the picture and what could be causing it, it would be greaby WClampitt1 - Prusa i3 and variants
Sorry it has been a while since I have responded to this question. I just got out of school so I am just now having time to sit down and figure out the problem. My printer does not have a screw that tightens or loosens the mechanism that pushed the filament against the brass gear. I just took hand and the heat sink off of the printer and I see a lot of plastic shavings on the brass gear, like itby WClampitt1 - Prusa i3 and variants
Are there any other problems that could cause slippage like that? Just so I can check them if fixing the spring doesn't work?by WClampitt1 - Prusa i3 and variants
My filament has been slipping on the brass teeth that are supposed to pull it down into the hot end. I don't think that it is being pushed up against it very fell by the guide wheel. All of this is causing my printer to under extrude a lot and it is becoming s very big problem for me. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.by WClampitt1 - Prusa i3 and variants
Extruder Keeps jamming - 10 years agoAlright. I'll do some experimenting to see what works after I dry my filament out. I really appreciate the help!by WClampitt1 - Mechanics
Extruder Keeps jamming - 10 years agoAbout what temperature would you suggest? Because I think that could very well be the problem because I observed it after you suggested that and I noticed that my extruder assembly was pretty warm even with the cooling fan running at full speed.by WClampitt1 - Mechanics
Extruder Keeps jamming - 10 years agoI am fairly new to 3D printing, I just got my first printer back in December. I have been trying to print a part for school and the first time I tried printing it, my printer would not extrude the filament evenly. It would extrude, then not extrude and so on, leaving a very poorly printed raft layer with very weak prints. The whole time the filament made this popping noise as it was extruding.
