All contacts are clean and everything is in order. Everything is connected properly, but it still doesn't seem to show up. I even partitioned it down to 2gb and reformatted it to FAT16 rather than FAT32. Not sure how I would test for that kind of thing on my power supply? I will try and unplug all my outside connections and see if it isn't receiving the right amount of power. Not sure if it is sby schmuck - RAMPS Electronics
Skogi, So I fixed mine but I don't know if our issues are the same. It seems like the issue doesn't have as much to do with the motor as the connection. I know that I had same issue, but actually turned out to be the motor connector to my nema motors. That doesn't seem to sound like the issue that I was having as mine was completely disabling any movement in the direction. I also added a fan toby schmuck - Printing
Hey guys, I know there is probably a ton of these on here, but I need some help with my sd card. Everything was all good my first couple prints with it and then all the sudden I do the same process to prepare for printing and it doesn't read the card. There is no change when I put the card in or take it out and there is the no sd card button on the lcd menu. I haven't changed anything in the firby schmuck - RAMPS Electronics
I did have problems with the wires coming out, so it must have been a loose connection. I never used solder. I will really screw them down next board. Thanks man!by schmuck - RAMPS Electronics
Have you tried tuning the stepper pots? Also try greasing the rod that's your axis runs on. I had similar issues but I greased the rods and tuned the stepper drivers and it worked. Use a ceramic screw driver or something that is non conductive. Also check your end stops by using m119. This will tell you if the board thinks that they are triggered. If it isn't what you want it to be then you haveby schmuck - RAMPS Electronics
I have a ramps 1.4 board that came with the folger tech 2020 kit. Everything has been good for the couple prints that I have been able to make, no major ramps issues. I felt like the bed was heating kind of slow but have no idea what a normal time would be. When I was setting up for a print and the bed was being heated I saw smoke coming from the ramps board of my printer. I shut off the printerby schmuck - RAMPS Electronics
Does any one think they might be able to help me with the post that I just posted here: I have a 2020 prusa by FT and just need some quick marlin tips. Thanks!by schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
I had my folger tech up and running perfectly. I wanted to adjust something in the firmware, but I don't think that I previously saved my firmware from when I had it working. So that is an issue because it now doesn't want to work. I had the problem before, but I somehow fixed it and I didn't remember what I changed. My z axis doesn't want to lower to the endstop. When I home it the motors don'tby schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
I don't see anything wrong with that. I have the same 2020 by FT and haven't had any issue with the y axis. Might decrease the stress/heat on the y axis motor by a tiny bit, but not really necessary. If anything just save that one in case you decide to use auto level and buy a skeletonized one.by schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
I think so too because it does get quite hot. What voltage would you recommend using? I had it to the spec that folger tech reccomended. I think it was around .5-.6.by schmuck - Printing
Hey guys, So I recently got my prusa i3 from folger tech up and running and had some really good prints. Roughly 10-15 hours of prints came out awesome. I had a couple of issues with prints shifting like one in 15 was good, but I recently have been getting all my prints to have this shifting issue. It seems to only be the x axis. I have tried moving around the stepper pots and it seemed to helpby schmuck - Printing
I don't know if the 5v rail load is it but it might be that the power supply is old. Because it works eventually when I keep turning it on and off again and after is fires up it keeps going until I turn it off and leave it off for 5 minutes or so and then I have to repeat the same process over again. So it is probably just an old power supply. Or it is something way over my head because I think iby schmuck - Experimental and Hobby
Hey guys, So I did my first print and all the axis seem to be working in harmony perfectly and everything seems to be fine except for the extruder, the motor doesn't seem to get a good grasp of the filament and spit it out correctly, I haven't calibrated the extruder yet, but I don't think that I would be able to if the extruder isn't able to push the filament out on its own. I was able to get aby schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
So I recently picked up a thermaltake 430w psu for my prusa i3. Im not a super electrically inclined person but have learned a little through the process of building and lots of videos so I knew about the shorting of the green wire to the black wire to make the system have a load and supply power to the rest of its components, but when I do this it takes anywhere from 3-6 tries of the hard switchby schmuck - Experimental and Hobby
I actually managed to take a 430w thermaltake. Have you had any issues with the green ps_on short trick? It takes like the 3-4 times for me to switch the power on and off for it to power the whole machine up. It still works so it's not that big of a deal I just think that it's weird that it doesn't work right away. If I wire an led to the green and ground then it has power but still doesn't makeby schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
Yeah, I might try the one that I found but who knows how that would go. If anything I will try and tear apart some old computers and find something with a decent wattage, until then I will have to be fine with the one they gave me. Thanks for your help!by schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
Hey guys, I have been looking around for the power requirements across the internet and seemed to get quite a large range. Anywhere from the 203w xbox psu to needing a 400w minimum for your printer to work. I have a folgertech 2020 and the stock power supply that it comes with ( which I'm guessing will suit all of my needs) however, I have a 250w psu ( no idea how old it is, but pretty old) I sby schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants

Mach, Sorry for the late response. Here is my configuration.h in a link: You could probably tell me for sure, but I think that I already downloaded that version and that's how I got it to do what I wanted, but still having mechanical issues. Not anything on the firmware side. Thanksby schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
Steve, Yes I did do the NO configuration that you told me. I scrapped the entire FT Marlin that they had with their kit and did a new configuration because they had changed things and I wasn't able to see all of the NO/NC configurations. That was extremely helpful and I know now that the end stops are properly being triggered and the homing is going to work when all the other things come togethby schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
Here is my first 3D printer build that I got from FolgerTech. Everything went super smooth through the build itself. I had some small issues with the electronics and coding part such as having to use a fresh version of marlin and write the code that actually would work, but I got it to what I think is supposed to be the final product of the project, however as you can see from the video I have onby schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
The instructions fail to say that it doesn't work perfect after that last step, or at least that's how its going in my case. I am a newbie to the whole electronics and coding thing so please take it easy on me. Here are my problems: My z axis motors don't want to work in sync with each other. The one closest to the ramps board seems to work better than the of the one of the filament spool side.by schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants

Hey guys, So I finally got my printer all built and ready to go except the fan that it came with doesn't seem to want to work. Other than that everything seems to be running according to plan. All lights and displays are coming on. Seemed to be going just fine until I got to the Repetier part. I uploaded the firmware that folger tech had on their google drive and all I got was an error on my Repby schmuck - Prusa i3 and variants
