Mine double taps the X everytime. The bigger problem with the stock endstop holders, is they are a mm or two too wide. You can browse thingiverse for things to print. Fine adjust Z, calibration pieces and then backup parts will be your first priority.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteRjward1775 Thanks! So I need a RAMPS board, two additional Bowden extruders and their framework. Wait till you get your machine printing and print a few times before spending a bunch of money on upgrades, imo. Things will make more sense then and the first battle is getting good prints off of ONE extruder, before you multiply headache/weak points/features.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
Drivers cheap. Buy extras. There are worse things to burn up. I get extras on the slow boat from china.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants

Usually the cooling parts fan is set to not turn on till after height Xmm in the slicer. Also the fan can be set, in the slicer, to slow down in relation to the layer print time vs min layer time. Is it just at the start? When does it stop/start?by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants

Quotedlw First; the wiring system has been checked and checked and checked again with the wiring diagram. It is correct. Pictures or it didn't happen Quotedlw Also, what happens when pressing the reset button. What exactly does it reset? I don't know about Melzi, but on a RAMPS its like a 'kill switch' (power reset). Also, do you have a multimeter. If not, buy one, someone with more electroby VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
For refresher Otherwise it's what works best for you: time and budget. I'm using; Repetier Host v1.6.2 with the Cura embedded slicer mostly. I use Win 8.1 and generate the Gcode on that computer. Then I upload it to a RPI 3 over wifi (which I put a $5 PS3 camera on) and print from browser interface. {best $45 spent to date} Firmware Marlin (I used Therippa's version ). QuoteFlyer Been a while (6 months) since I used my Folgertech i3 Acrylic. Having to start anew as my old computer was stolen. I'm using Windows 7 and was wondering which is the best Arduino/Marlin/RepetierHost firmware combination. I have a 2004 LCD screen and would like to use it. Trying to remember which versions I was using before...not sure. Any help would be great. Thanks No problem.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteCharlieB I am using the firmware from the Folger Tech Google drive. The firmware hasn't been updated in a long time, not on the google drive. Possible causes: The fan is set off in the firmware. (don't know, just guessing b/c he has you hardwire the fan to the 12v psu) or, the fan is not on because it is the first layer (slicer settings). or, you have the fan off in slicer settings.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteDust you have to edit two files SdBaseFile.h and SdBaseFile.cpp Open the Arduino IDE, Open the Marlin Folder, and open the Marlin arduino file. The two files mentioned above will be tabs at the top of the page. I'm using Inland because I can get it at my local MicroCenter for $15/kg. If I get Amazon Prime again, then I'd probably get some filament online at a similar price. I'd start with PLA because the first bit, you'll be tuning and calibrating. So doesn't hurt to get familiar with the equipment at lower temperatures before you raise the temps with ABS.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
Idk, I just have the 2020 and am putting together a couple P3steels from parts right now. But 9 months ago I couldn't find another kit (non-acrylic) that had this price point. So back then it was a 'slam dunk' for me. Now there a lot of kits at the price point w/o acrylic. So the market has changed. Nothing against the printer. The only grudge I hold, is it doesn't ship with a screw adjusby VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
Biggest asset is a large community of owners that have ironed out some kinks and posted upgrades on Thingiverse. It was very 'educational' for a kit. (read: instructions/software/stock parts; could use an update/revision) TBF, in today's market, with today's price points. There are some good looking kits that have a more user friendly frame than the 2020. But it's my first, and spawned the nby VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants

Generally pretty hard steel. I tried to drill a set screw hole in one of mine. Didn't work well. Tend to see a 3-point collar/hub for them in higher priced kits. The other problem is you don't really want to be torquing the living crap out of them against the axis.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
swap a stepper driver before condeming the code. Grab a multimeter, You said motor worked if swapped on X. What if you swap X stepper driver to E0? Still twitches?by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
You need multimeter and similar procedures like these . "Tuning stepper driver" is your search term. "stepper driver current", "reprap stepper driver", ect. If you use ground on the driver to measure V, be careful and have spares on hand. If you use other ground? I have never done that way, idk if it's exactly the same reading, but enough people seem to say it's okay. As far as what values?by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants

Disclaimer: Not trying to be a dick, just trying to help you resolve your problems. After some searching and research, and perhaps adding same technique to You Tube. What have you tried, per suggestions, and what has the program told you? TL;DR: There could be a few reasons for the problems you are having, and without doing some additional trouble shooting/research, all that can be given aby VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
Yes but why? Because you haven't explained to us what you have tried. Make a good faith attempt to solve the problem yourself first. If we can't see enough work on your part your question will likely be booed off the stage Showing people how you have tried to solve your own problem, will make them more likely to donate their time into helping you solve it.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants

Quoteseattle_phil I guess I was surprised to see the posts trying to discourage you. . I would say the posts were less discouraging and more analytical in nature.
