I really wish someone could help you out CutterNorth. I know how it is to be digging on the new printer and then have it go down for a time and not being able to use it. I am brand new to 3D printers also so I have not encountered a heated bed failure yet. Does sound like something to do with the thermistor if you are getting proper voltage to the bed.by JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
ISmith1437 - Thanks for joining the forum and starting the group on Thingiverse! Hoping we can use the forum to build of each other knowledge and experience. I had searched for a RepRepGuru group earlier and did not find anything. Nice collection of bits to get started with. Nice x -axis tension block design. I just tightened by x-axis belt as after about 2 months of printing it had become sby JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
Printed the new cooling ducts last night and pulled them off the printer this morning. They look great. Thanks again MostTornBrain for pointing me to them. I also found this remixed bracket for the dual fan ducts - FolgerTech Dual Fan Mount I have attached a picture of my dual cooling fan set-up that is ready to be installed.by JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
Well, I am back up and running. Had to replace all stepper drivers, Ramps and Arduino, oh well, live and learn. Note to self - PAY ATTENTION DUMMY!!! Thanks for posting up that question Tyborg as I encountered the same problem originally and also when reloading everything. Funny how quickly I forgot everything I had tweaked. The settings in the RepRap_Guru_Marlin V2 zip file for the softwaby JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
Hey, sorry I went silent. Blew up a driver board so been catching up on other things. Printed out the fan shroud but it fail on the upper horizontal face as it could not span that gap. Took the model and split it to 2 pieces then glued them together, looks great. The tried printing a new fan shroud in one piece but still could not span that gap. Ordered some new drivers and other spare partsby JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
I see you a using a printed cable chain. What is the blue rectangular shape behind the extruder? Is that the extruder mount?by JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks MostTornBrain, that second one looks like what I was looking for. I tried another version of the first one that did not fit very good. I think I will print the first one and install to help printing out the second one. Looks like the dual shroud version uses the same size fan that is on the extruder?by JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
I also found and printed this rod guide/bearing keeper as one of my z rod bearings kept popping out of its hole - Prusa I3 Z axis top bearing holder. Works great!by JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
Sorry for the mass message blast but when I checked on this forum in December there was not much activity. Not sure if the kit comes with a knob for the LCD display or if I lost it during unpacking/assembly? I found this knob on Thingiverse and printed it and am very pleased with it - Prusa I3 MK2 LCD Round KNobby JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
Has anybody been able to find an extruder cooling fan shroud that will work with this extruder? I had to get replacement shafts for the x axis as the shafts already have deep grooves in them. Waiting to order some IGUS bearings and an aluminum y chassis before I replace them. Pretty sure all of the shafts now have grooves in them from not being hardened. I have some Nema 17 motor dampers on oby JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
New member to the forum. Bought mine right before Christmas and am about half way thru my 3rd roll of filament! Stuah - couple things to look at. Be sure that the extruder motor is pulling the filament and not pushing it back out. You may need to reverse the motor connector. Second thing is the set screw on gear on the motor. Mine came loose after quite a bit of printing.by JB01245 - Prusa i3 and variants
