Exactly! Except my printer is broken, and I can't print anything. I was hoping to find the original injection molded part for sale.by BrianRosenthal - Prusa i3 and variants
Both Z axis nut supports on my A8 just fractured to pieces. Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts? Searching for "anet a8 left z axis nut support" doesn't find a lot of options. Thanks!by BrianRosenthal - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteo_lampe I've placed a 4.5mm steelball between stepper shaft and leadscrew ( both are touching the ball ). That way the weight and inertia of the X-carrier can't compress the coupler, but it can still flex. While I like the idea, what issues does coupler flex cause on the z axis?by BrianRosenthal - Prusa i3 and variants
If your ripple follows the pitch of the z lead screw, make sure your lead screw is not pushing the carriage around. The X Y position of the carriage can only be provided by the smooth guide rod.. If the z lead screw is constrained in any way, it will if fight the guide rod and move the carriage around. Make sure the couplers between the lead screws and steppers are installed correctly (the motoby BrianRosenthal - Prusa i3 and variants
I have over 200 printing hours on my Anet A8, and have been very happy with it. Early on I had the heat bed connector issue - fixed by soldering the wire directly to the connector. Just recently, I had a bad crimp on the hot-end heater. Re-crimped it and I'm up and running again. I agree that 3-point bed adjustment makes more sense, but the "H" frame the bed is mounted will flex long before tby BrianRosenthal - Prusa i3 and variants
The smooth rod is to maintain the proper X and Y position of the Z carriage. The threaded rod is to move it up and down. The distance between the two doesn't matter, except if the threaded rod is working against the smooth rod. If this happens you will get some sort of X and/or Y position issue (ripples or ridges). As it is difficult to maintain perfect alignment between the two and the threaby BrianRosenthal - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteDust If the Y label is at the back and you didn't the rotate the model you have you X and Y switched . And we have a winner! I managed to incorrectly install both the X Axis Stepper and Home switch on the rear plate, so everything appeared to home correctly. So I'll swap those tonight, tighten my Y belt and try another cube. Thanks everyone for helping!by BrianRosenthal - Prusa i3 and variants
As a Father's day gift, my wife and daughter bought me an Anet A8 kit, so Sunday my daughter and I assembled it and were able to do our first test print. To do a good check out, we printed iDig3Dprinting's test cube: The print worked reasonably well for a first print, although I can see I have some more improvements to make. The problem lies with the Y axis. On my cube the Y label is towardby BrianRosenthal - Prusa i3 and variants
