I would look at this another way before I started replacing electronics. You say that the stepper extrudes 100mm when not under pressure (nozzle off) but only extrudes 90mm when under pressure. I would check what the stepper thinks it has extruded by checking the exact number of revolutions of the stepper motor in both cases. Mark the end of the stepper motor shaft or something. I believe your printer is a Folger Tech 2020. Correct?? I have a Prusa i3 clone and did have a similar problem. My Z drive motors are at the bottom whereas yours are mounted at the top I believe. Gravity should hold the carriage in place with the Z drive nuts resting in their respective recess - force or glue should not be needed. Neither should messing with the spiral-cut adaptors to the motorby Ricky146a - Printing
I am a complete beginner to CAD modelling and I have been learning Fusion360 for the last 3 weeks or so. It is a great piece of software and very flexible. Best of all it is free with the hobbyist/startup licence. There are literally hundreds of videos produced by Lars Christensen on youtube which walk you through each stage of the design process including how to deal with imported stl files etcby Ricky146a - 3D Design tools
I think this is something to do with 'fpos_t' being a reserved term or something. Or already defined in stdio.h file. I think you need to replace all the occurrences of fpos_t with filepos_t except the one in stdio.h file What version of Marlin are you using? Is it an old one? The latest one does not have this error. Google is your friend.by Ricky146a - Prusa i3 and variants
Hello All After building my Sintron Prusa i3 and getting it to produce decent prints I decided I wanted to add some modifications to it. First on my list was a bunch of LED's to illuminate the extruder/build area. After investigating the neo-pixels available I thought it would be neat to have one led that indicated the state of the extruder temp and one that indicated the heat bed temp then allby Ricky146a - Prusa i3 and variants
As an aside, I got my 3d printer for Christmas - a Sintron Prusa i3, so basically the same as yours. I also had problems getting it to work. In the end, I followed the instructions given in this guide from NW Reprap You can also copy the software from their site - instructions in the videos. The load of the driver is explained and also the setting up of the software - I use Marlin. Works a treby Ricky146a - Prusa i3 and variants
The driver and uploading supplied code are 2 different things. Can you post a copy of the errors you are getting and someone may then be able to help. Stick with it - it will be worth it in the end.by Ricky146a - Prusa i3 and variants
Do you use the same USB cable when you switch from your main computer to the laptop? If not then the first thing I would suspect is the cable itself. If you do use the same cable then I would suspect the USB socket in the computer itself. I have seen cases where a rogue sliver of wire has or other metallic rubbish has been trapped deep in the socket and caused weird faults. I assume during all tby Ricky146a - Prusa i3 and variants
Thanks for the fast response Guys. Dust. I will order the 2004 lcd and then hold the 12864 in reserve. In the meantime, is it possible to just disconnect the 12864 and just control the printer via the laptop usb or is the lcd a required item? Probably a daft question. Clif. Thanks for the ideas! Overkill? I like overkill, belt and braces etc. It can save going back to the same problem and fixinby Ricky146a - Prusa i3 and variants
Hello all and a Happy New Year to all. My first post and a newbie to 3d printing so forgive me if I appear a bit dumb! I have assembled my Sintron Prusa I3. I fried the Mega 2560 by connecting the end switch incorrectly (wrong pin - as in I nconnected all 3 wires supplied when instruction specifically tell you not to do this). It blew the voltage regulator. Got new Mega 2560 and Ramps 1.4 (Polby Ricky146a - Prusa i3 and variants
