Sorry I gave the aluminum link. Here is the steel:by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Here is another P3 Steel variant, with LCD built in:by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Found a printer that seems to have covered most of the bases: Aluminum (especially black), extended 270 mm bed, LCD and spool on top, rubber feet. Still trying to figure out if Ramps or not, and what the extruder type, and power supply watts are:by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
I see in the settings above, that the fan is set to come on for bridges. I never thought about that, and was going to just remove the fan entirely since I will be using only PETG. Do you think the fan will still be needed?by RRuser - Reprappers
Nobody has the LCD?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Just saw that the Affinibot has the SD card on the main board, and not the LCD. I think that this make for better SD card functioning? Is it a Melzi, and if so is a Ramps preferred?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
A lot of the same newbie questions about slicers and filament, but I don't see anyone using the easier solutions for these: Simplify3D, and PET. Simplify3D is purchased slicer, but with a super easy beginner mode. PET is a filament that does not warp or smell or need high bed temps, which are three of the things causing the most concern with new folks.by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Some things about PET, for new folks: Non-warping, no smell, PET filament: No shrinking or warping. No smell. No enclosure required. Build plate can be heated or not. Does not absorb water or moisture from air. Clear color is the most transparent of all filament materials. Is much "tougher" that PLA or ABS; will bend before breaking. Uses about the same extruder temps as ABS. Does not need a prby RRuser - Reprappers
Would you say iron is as good as aluminum?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants

I see that kit has no frame. Is not the P3steel all about the steel frame?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants

Anyone get the LCD?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
How is the sound/vibration from the acrylic frame?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Is that the piece at the very front of the bed?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Maybe there is a minimum thickness that solves most acrylic problems. Aren't printers using 8 mm now?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Although it's your first printer, how would you say the noise/vibration is?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
"I was going mad trying to level the bed - even slight spring tensions would cause warpage of the acrylic" You mean that you could see the Y acrylic warp, just from adjusting the bed?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Migbots are printing well?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
The 2020 looks like it is wide enough for a spool holder and lcd on the top. Has anyone put both of these on the top?by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Yes it does sound like a 1 khz tone from the motor... seems a bit high for a mechanical device.by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Looks like they have a kit too...by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
For the Window 8.1 problem, I've heard that you have to look at the driver signatures.by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Makes sense. Acrylic and heat don't mix, certainly not long term. Would love black metal options for all the i3 printers.by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
I see everyone using PLA; maybe nobody knows about PET: Non-warping, no smell, PET filament: No shrinking or warping. No smell. No enclosure required. Build plate can be heated or not. Does not absorb water or moisture from air. Clear color is the most transparent of all filament materials. Is much "tougher" that PLA or ABS; will bend before breaking. Uses about the same extruder temps as ABS.by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
About moisture: PET and PETG filaments don't absorb moisture (they are used for water bottles). Also, PET does not warp, or smell. Seems like a good plastic for non-enclosed printers.by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
Has anyone tried PET filament? It does not warp, and has no smell, so it it good for non-enclosed printers.by RRuser - Prusa i3 and variants
