Quotejbehan Ugh...dang ABS, why can't I print it as well as PLA? Getting nice looking ABS prints but they can be pulled apart, how do I get the layers to stick? FYI: I had an ABS print that took a couple hours to complete, de-laminate on a few layers so I clamped it (layer compression) and wicked in some thin CA adhesive. Worked like a charm! Quote3DST We also had to re-solder the terminals on ALL THREE (X,Y and Z) Limit Micro-switches. Then we coated them with a silicone paste and made sure they DON'T MOVE. Yeah I have a feeling the switch is still good based on the muti-meter test but it did seem intermittent compared to the other one. Probably need to solder like you did. The printer was finally printing great, so when all of sby gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
Any body else have one of their end stops, stop working? Today my X end stop, I am not sure is working. During homing all of a sudden extruder just jamming into it making loud noises. I tested the end stop it self and there is resistance when its closed, so seems to be functioning. Also no changes since my last print. I am confused. Quoteveaceonee Got a new development... Spent some time calibrating the extruder, and switched to a white PLA. Turns out, the lumps Iv been getting is burned plastic. Anyone able to explain why this is occuring?? are you getting a lot of jams too? heat would traveling up the too far above the nozzle. fan look like its going at full speed?by gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteveaceonee So I messed with the retract and speed settings a little. Helped with the giant lump it was making in the print...but, now everything else is going hell......frustrating. I think probably do a methodical calibration of your x,y,z and extruder. Make sure they are doing exactly what they are suppose to do. Then starting with the default migbot settings again. Quoteveaceonee What glass do you recommend I get to replace the aluminum plate? Does the glass replace, or add on to the aluminum plate? Iv heard the Z sensor doesn't like glass plates, is this true? The aluminum plate does not appear warped. I mean if you are getting even applications of your first layer with what you have then you probably could just stick with it. I got it because even witby gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
Quote3DST gatorNic, I mentioned the warped bed because anytime the head gets too far off the bed, the filament can pour our and sometimes "curls" up and attaches to the print head. Little by little the blob gets bigger. Yeah sorry I didn't mean it wasn't the problem, just that I don't know. Certainly some big blobs.by gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
I only print off the SD due to shorting out the board the first time I was nervous to have the 12v and the usb plugged in at the same time again haha. I would not be surprised if the aluminum print bed was warped. Mine was for sure. Its been a big difference with a glass plate installed instead. Although I can't attribute that blobbing problem to a warped bed.by gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteveaceonee Every time I try to connect my computer to the printer it keeps saying "NON GENUINE DEVICE DETECTED". It will not connect to the printer. How do i fix this? Stupid Windows 10.. And this is with doing a "have disk" manually loading drivers? Usually the Genuine stuff just has to do with the drivers not being signed, but you can force drivers with have disk.by gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
How much was shipping to California? Was that for everything or just the frame?by gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
It also might matter how tight you have the the levelers tightened down. If it leveled while they are tighter, the bed would be much closer to the acrylic. I have mine about as loose as I can go and the acrylic is about 15mm from the heat bed. However I haven't done alot of abs printing. So too early to tell.by gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotejbehan Anyone have their acrylic Y axis carriage warp from heat while printing ABS? I did tonight, son-of-a...just found the sweet spot too. Thoughts on a replacement? I haven't started printing with ABS yet. Was just about to. Was it a long print? Quoteveaceonee Appreciate the feedback but, I cant print anything right now because the printer is broke (awaiting parts). That was something I found, that was unrelated to the initial problem. I need to get the printer repaired before I can make anything. Go pick up some high psi plastic epoxy. Think you could probably repair it for the time being. ABS cement might work too, not sure how stby gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteveaceonee Was looking at those. Would love to find someone in the US so I can get it quicker. Thanx though. You could always upload the the printer parts to shapeways, sculpteo or another service and get fast shipping. Not sure what their turnaround time it. Obviously just a temp fix printed in abs until you can get a metal one, but could be an option. Usually though I find the epacket dby gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants

Is there any 12v out jacks on the board? I see some for servos. Would like to plug a fan in, would be nice to have it on its own separate plug instead of wiring it directly through the main 12V in.by gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants

Yeah sorry nevermind. I tried to redo it tonight after I got home from work and it was fine. No idea why. When I ouput it last time I exported both the .2 and then .1 right after. Oh well I will blame myself.by gatorNic - Printing
Anyone have a problem with object width changing when going to .1mm prints? So I have been printing fine with .3, .2. Well I finally went and got a borosilicate glass bed. The aluminum one is just too uneven. Didn't matter even with autolevel. Wasn't bad if I had a small part at the center of the bed, but as soon as I went multiple or large pieces it was noticeable. Figured the glass would be better for ABS anywayby gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteRRuser How is the sound/vibration from the acrylic frame? I feel like mine isn't that bad or atleast it seems acceptable to me compared to others. However, I did put cork spacers and rubber washers on all steppers except the extruder and I also used some of the left over cork to put underneath the feet of the printer. So in theory that should help with dampaning.by gatorNic - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotejbehan Has anyone found an aluminum extruder mount for this thing? I know it was mentioned very early in this forum (first page) but haven't seen anything on it since. I see there is one on flea-bay for $27 but that seems a bit high for what it is. Also, I was looking at this...any thoughts? JB. Too expensive for my blood. Is it really going to improve anything? Quote3DST The Motherboard is an MKS BASE V1.3... so I would assume that something like this v1.4 should work too. And yes, all the parts should be readily available too. That one is a MKS 1.3 as well, its a 1.4 Ramps. I don't think they have MKS 1.4.
