Don't forget screws those things add up if you have to buy them at the hardware store. I would order a bunch from banggood.com or aliexpress. You should check prices for the other parts on those sites too like James said. Make sure you have an old PCU that can supply enough power on the 12V rail. Maybe the temp is dropping while printing. Or you could be too close to the bed. When you are manually extruding I am assuming you are above the bed.by msaeger - Prusa i3 and variants

I finally got around to installing Sonny's v-slot Y axis. I would defiantly recommend doing this as your first upgrade. It is only slightly quieter than what I had but I spent a lot of time and went through many iterations to get it as quiet as it was. Installing this was so much easier than the rods and bearings you don't really need to worry about getting anything lined up like with the stock sby msaeger - Prusa i3 and variants
Set perimeters, small perimeters, external perimeters, infill, solid infill, and top solid infill to 0 then set auto speed max print speed to 50 (or whatever you want to try) and see what that looks like. I have gotten the best results using the auto speed. I also set non print move speed to the same as the max print speed because it made the printer much quieter and didn't really add much to theby msaeger - Prusa i3 and variants
Is that extruder on thingiverse? I have been using a gregs variation with a belt that is turned 90 degrees from how yours is. The orientation you have would be much better.by msaeger - Prusa i3 and variants
