How does the single piece tube/nozzle perform compared to the seperate threaded tube and nozzle ?by cluso99 - For Sale
In the boating industry they use brass nozzles to spray Gelcoat. I am not sure of the size so I will take a look. There are probably nozzles used in other industries such as spray painting (cars comes to mind). I am presuming therefore that the extruders are still not perfect.by cluso99 - General
Thanks guys. I wondered if this might be the case. I see the Mendel uses the triangular frame and more plastic parts to make it sturdy whereas the MakerBot uses a box for it's sturdiness. It is interesting to see that the Mendel has it's X axis on the feeder rather than the platten (is that the correct term these days?). I realise the parts size is smaller on the MakerBot. These RepRap machines look amazing. I am investigating building a RepRap (MakerBot). I have noticed that they all use belts and slide on bar for the X & Y axis but use belt or cog and threaded bar for the z axis. Could the X & Y axis use the same threaded technique or is there something I do not understand? Perhaps cost?? I do hope this was the correct place to post this. If not, pleaseby cluso99 - General
I am interested in your progress guys, so keep the thread updated. My location is in Gosford, north of Sydney and travel to the Gold Coast regularly. My interest is in the MakerBot but I liked the micro-mendel. I want to make my own electronics.by cluso99 - Australia, Melbourne RUG
Hi, I am interested in building a MakerBot. I am in Gosford (north of Sydney) but travel to the Gold Coast regularly, sometimes by road. I have a brother in Lennox Head. Anyway, I am interested in designing my own electronics.by cluso99 - Australia, Brisbane RepRap User Group
I am looking to build a MakerBot. I want to do my own electronics though. I am in Gosford (St Huberts Is actually) but travel to the Gold Coast regularly. I did notice the micromendel which looks nice and small. Might even be able to scrounge some bits from 2 printer/scanners (identical) that have been pensioned off but not thrown yet.by cluso99 - Australia, Sydney RUG
