How I set my Stepper currents safely.. the usb outer shield is the same ground as on the stepper drivers.. and you can just use usb power ti set the stepper current .. using alligator clips hook the ground test probe to the usb shield and touch carefully the case of the pot on the stepper drivers with your multimeter set to high millivolts or lowest volts on mine that was 2v .. then adjust accorby mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants

installed Arduino and uploaded to the Arduino board successfully .. I am able to home X,Y and Z but the manual says X,Y should home in the back right corner,, but My printer homes in the front right corner is this correct? I moved the X stop to the left and set X home to max as recommended by others....all I need to do now is to set the end stops and level the bed...by mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants
[email protected] I received a "professional ceramic alignment tool" AKA a non conductive screwdriver for adjusting my steppers. Is this not shipped with the kits normally to avoid shorting the steppers? Yes it is.. but from reading the threads its the Multimeter probes that usually end up shorting the drivers out.. I think instead of placing the ground probe on the board itself .. Iby mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotesk8 Quotemike3 Thanks for the pix .. One question I see the extruder stepper is also plugged in reversed .. is that right and why is that..finally got everything wired.. almost ready to go. also I don't see anything in the Folger manuals about setting up the steppers I assume there must be a procedure .. [email protected] Well day three and couple headaches. I did not get enough socket head screw so I had used Philip head screws for the motor brackets now I can not tighten them. So tomorrow I will take some of the socket head screws out from the Y-axis rods and trade places with the mounts so I can get in and tighten them. Also cracked the left Z-rod brace under the motor not baby mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotesk8 Quotemike3 Got the metric stuff.. you were right you need the larger washers.. I also had to use the socket head screws on the larger T-nuts as nothing else would fit... other pan heads were too long for there purpose.. anyway got the thing together,,, And since you are up and running .. some pictures would be great .. I am at the wiring stage.. On the where the steppers plug into the Rby mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants
Received the Folger 2020 i3 .. and have it almost completely assembled... And I have to say it is very rigid, easily cheaply expanded ..If I had an Acrylic or wood i3 I definitely would consider The 20x20mm as a frame.. its very economic easily worked with and pretty much self aligning .. and light weight... Quotezarnold16 I was wondering where I could find a BOM for this printer I didn't seem to see on on the website or the G-Drive? My printer will be arriving Saturday if USPS doesn't mess up and before I start building I wanted to make a checklist for the parts to see what I'm missing. A BOM would have been nice.. I havn't seen any except what's printed on the separate packs of parts you receive iby mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants
[email protected] Checked this morning the socket head screws are the only ones I got to fit the larger T-nuts. When I went to try the pan head ones I found I had not noticed the diameter of them. Wow sorry about the size will figure how to make pictures smaller. Ok that's better at least it's not messing up the forums with 4 pages of scrolling. I also only had the Socket heads tby mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants

Quotesk8 Received my package completely smashed, looks like it was run over by something. Still got my printer completely built, but when following the config guide when I try to home the x axis it doesn't want to move more than a few inches. With manual control it doesn't want to move to the right, did I get a bad board? What could the problem be? I checked all my wiring multiple times and everyby mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotesmerrett79 Some people use Cura to divide stl plates. I use the cut function in netfab which lets you save the sections you cut the plate into as stls. Is that what you're struggling with? Actually yes.. I'm trying to use the plates on the openjscad .. as it will give me the dimensions of the box and rods.. thanks mike ,,by mike3 - Smart_Rap

Thanks Tim. hopefully it will get better as I like the Idea of an American company.. but with good customer service... Meanwhile while I am waiting.. could someone with the experience with this kit help me understand the Software side of things,, I am pretty good with electro-mechanical side of it I believe.. with the exceptions of the specific interaction with a 3D printer and its controller/soby mike3 - Prusa i3 and variants

I ran a business for over 40 years,,, and Customer service and interaction with customers is your business,, Hopefully they gave me a wrong tracking.. don't know as they havn't answered..
