Quotesonnylowe Quotepeeejayz Ordered all of my parts today for Sonny's Y axis upgrade. Also got a Mk3 Alu heated bed, buildtack and inductive sensor comming, could improve my prints no end Very cool, hope you like the upgrade...I can say with the utmost certainty, I LOVE IT (I might be a bit bias LOL) If you need anything just don't hesitate to PM me, I'm more than happy to help, and make anyby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants

Quotesonnylowe Quotebingham34 Quotesonnylowe X-Carriage Update: Since my Proximity Sensor decided to take a dump, I in turn decided to start the X-Carriage install. I can honestly say, this install went in much easier and with far less "ut oh" moments. So far everything has fit well, although I have found many alignment issues with my old Z-Axis setup. I think I have corrected them all and wilby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotesonnylowe Quotetherippa Here is a picture from the back and of the holes I drilled into the folgertech bed plate (and you get to see the sassy towel I use when working on the printer so I don't scratch the kitchen table): The new endstop works well (if someone is going to build the y-axis, let me know and I'll give you the STL). Been trying to get ABS to print right, got PLA working perfect, but I'm having big problems with lifting. Do people remove there print cooling fan on ABS? I can get my bed to 100degrees and hold it there. I'm using kapton take on the bed and the first layers stick perfect until it lifts.by peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotetherippa In my attempt to try to fix noise/play, I installed legit high quality ($5/piece) LM8UU's I picked up from Misumi. What. A. Difference. As quiet as a Drylin, but much easier to move along the smooth rods. If you don't feel like going the route of sonnylowe's V-slot system, I'd recommend these. Where did you get them from?by peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Quoteelkayem Quotepeeejayz Spent every minute I had free trying to get this printer printing happily. Finally after 3/4 of a kg of PLA I think I'm there: Nice! Your next step is a full 3D printed copter. Here's mine. Frame is 100% PLA (except the bolts and standoffs of course!). Here's a shot of it flying yesterday. The frame is off Thingiverse, called the "Crossfire 2". I wish Iby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants

Quoteelkayem Quotepeeejayz Frustrating day today. My mk9 extruder has decided it only wants to slip on filament. It will print. But from time to time on faster areas it will slip. Also the extruder motor sounds like it's start stopping while ectruding. Whole this is currently driving me. A little mad. If I out more pressure on the filament the motor can't handle it even with more amps. I'veby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants

QuoteYelloow-Snow So.... what a night. I made it all pretty to only plug it back in and 1 Z motor not work. Ordered new parts only to wake up and check the wires on the cable were cut. All fixed. Auto leveling question. My bed is 220 x 220 b/c i can use the full bed. (No glass) I run G0 X0 Y0. I then run G29 for auto leveling. Then sensor goes straight down no matter what I put in #defineby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
QuoteSlaghton Is there a stl file for the folgertech prusa i3 2020 bearing holders for the y axis rods? I sorted stripped the screw holes of mine from running my printer head down onto the build plate and luckily the screws gave way and made a pop noise that alerted me that the the end stop didn't trigger (mightv got moved when messing with something earlier) and now I can still print but it vibby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Tested out the dual bearing holder last night, seems to work well added a lot more structure and made the bed feel more secure, noticed one of my other bearings is bad so will replace that when my order of bearings comes in. I've added some pictures to the thingiverse page for it: Also did my first print of benchy last night, pretty happy with the results, still needs a little work - slightlyby peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Had a little play around with the current single bearing mount. What about doubling it. I mocked up a quick one using the current mount as the starting point and duplicated and moved the mounting: Only possible problem is still getting clearance for the motor so you still get full Y movement. Would I be able to get away with printing this part in PLA or due to the bed it needs to be ABS?by peeejayz - Prusa i3 and variants
Quotemsaeger Quoteanimoose Quotepeeejayz Hey all, Got my printer all set-up over the weekend, its been great fun and still getting the calibration right. But I have an annoying rattle(?) from the Y axis bed.
