I agree that with better bearings things have to be more in line. My problem with all the $1.00 lin bearings was the skipping/scratching/binding due to cheap balls and carriers in the bearings. 1 in 10 bearings would smoothly glide on a rod. My rods "appear" to be hardened rods. Every Musumi bearing glides much better than the "odd good cheap" bearing. So for me staying away from the cheap bearinby Slackdaddy - Prusa i3 and variants
Xavan, Thanks for your fix on rod alignment. That will be my next step. MKSA - ordering bearings 3 times was not per say to solve the Misalignment,, but do to trying to end up with a set of good bearings. Of the bearings that came with the kit, 1 rolled free, the rest skipped, hung up etc. (this was after extensive cleaning/lubing). There is just no way, Melamine is a "chipped board" with a thin plastic coating on each side. 1/4) would be 2 thin to make the connections. From what I read even the thick Melamine "loosens" up after a while. If you really want to make it out of wood, I would use a good grade plywood, screw and glue the corners.
