I dabbed some solder on the ends of my wires going into the psu, before inserting into psu. That made them a little 'beefier' for that connection. The real weak point, as in all these setups, is the Ramps board. The green, knock off Molex connectors are cheap. But a real Molex connector would cost more than your Chinese Ramps board...So...Price/Quality consideration. Don't leave unattended tby VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants

Personally, that sounded like your hotend was TOO CLOSE to the buildplate. Like many tiny ridges scraping against hard cold plastic. Could stand to reason why you are so unlucky with your boards? How well does it extrude if you start the print with a big gap between the hotend and the buildplate?by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
Click 'configuration' in the first picture. Then find your settings at the bottom of the screen that pops up, under the heading 'Selected Quality Setting'. And since you seem to have a camera, how 'bout snapping a few picks of your badboy and setup? You never know what people may see.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
Cutting drafts down can help too. Depending on structure/thickness of part, rafters can be added/needed. Most my stuff does fairly well just on clean (isopropyl alcohol on paper towel to clean) plate glass from the hardware store, with 4 walls (or almost fully enclosed) keeping out the drafts. How does your first layer look? Print something for the first few layers, then kill the print. Froby VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
Different kits, have different needs. What is the make (Geeetch, FolgerTech, Sunkey, Hotchiss, and many others)? The overall design of the Prusa i3 is sound, imo. That being said, you may wish to get an extra ramps coming in on the slow boat from China. And you might decide to replace your polyfuses with car fuses on the ramps. That is common problem among all ramps based printers. EDIT:by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants

Quoteaudiobull I am still looking for one to buy. I believe these are DIY questions, not ready made. I'm no engineer but I'll take a stab as no one else has, fwiw. For reference, this was the one I was looking at for simple project. Everybody is 6' from their computer when that POS blows...And no-one notices... I was like 'WFT!? Why isn't my ????? working?'... 10 mins later "Oh crap!" I soldered straight to the board and put car fuses inline between board and powersupply on hots, jumped where the polyfuses used to be.. A la Ramps 1.4.2 , but with more wires and questionable decisions.by VonRansak - Prusa i3 and variants
Wait, u meen if a big aluminum block is exposed to atmosphere. The heat escapes to atmosphere??? Now that saying my Dad has makes sense..."Colorado is an expensive state to heat." Srsrly though: If one of the tenants of the RepRap is to have machines making machines, and universality of dispersion...Lowering thermal escape, in turn lowers power consumption and minimum requirements to operateby VonRansak - Printing
