prusa is the best if used those components(IMHO): P3steel frame downloaded from logre.eu some better board like rambo 24V psu why? its precise, rigid and squared out of the box. there is no way that mendel max will be so precise, you need bolt alu extrusions, its a big job, and always you will miss, at least for 0.5 mm. Steel lasercut frame will be inside 0.1-0.2 mm max.by woo - Prusa i3 and variants
Thnx for feedback! Electronics is hidden becouse i have 3 years old little girl. Rambo has digital trimpots. And yes,i will also try direct drive but i am affraight that two 48 mm motors will be too heavy. Motors will have connectors, but for now cables are not shielded. Extruders will ve mounted on chassis, deatachable, reworked airtrriper style.by woo - General New Machines Topics
Hello, i am designing big 3d printer(2000 x 1500 x 1500 mm) and also thinking to attach pellet extruder with large diameter nozzle(10 mm) have you manage to solve that problem of uneven extrusion? maybe longer cold side,to help drill bit to make constant pressure with pellets? how much heating power you have? i think maybe there is some problem in transition area?? that looks terrible, but iby woo - Developers
that "MarkForged" configuration is not so good. why? becouse lets name it y carriage is moved by belt on only one side. so you need very expensive hiwin rails, and machined bridge to avoid flexing when moving carriage. in reprap style that will not work, it is hard to say if its ok on this demo machine with high speeds and acceleration settings. i suggest core xy as better alternative. wheeby woo - General New Machines Topics
Hello! so let me introduce my latest project. I had so far a lot of printers, some are introduced here on forum ) First waz prusa i3,then mendel max1, smartrap(oh my god, that waz terrible, i burned it chopped in pieces, sprayed with holly water and barried it) then my custom printer with 500x500x500 mm work area, modified p3steel.... so i have taken everything that i liked and put it on one siby woo - General New Machines Topics

Yes, but printer is still closed source.by woo - Controllers
heloo, well i have purchased board,Rambo from reprapelectro. let me explain. i have raspberry, and i will dual x carriages. so it is easier to do it with marlin that have it implemented. but i will also buy duet as soon as reprappro make fisher opensource. i really like that small printer. thank you!by woo - Controllers
steel lasercut p3steel is best. stock i3 is crap.by woo - Prusa i3 and variants
will fisher remain open source?by woo - Fisher
Very nice specs. But if i knew how that stuff works i would make board that can use some mainstream firmware, In this case smoothie or RRFW. Then you have 50% job done before started.by woo - Controllers
Hey, good to know! I think that simple opensource board like gen 7 would be great! And if there vere toshiba tb6600 it would be a beast! About ethernet..well i think that is good to have option...you can use it but if you prefer usb also ok. it is good to have multiple choices.by woo - Controllers
Can we stick to the topic. Its about 32 bit boards. Thanks!by woo - Controllers
Thats it. And i have one large beast that sits in workshop... So if its ok he will get also 32 bit motherboard, so that i can acess it with tablet etcby woo - Controllers
If i got it right, my plan is to connect it to router and then acess it via multiple devices. Also it will be much easier to atom pc to run it. i also have one more printer. So if that works ok i can control multiple printers via web browser. Actually i can live without it but i want it, like to try something new.by woo - Controllers
thats bad.. what is quality of replikeo duet board? i just ordered pi 2, but trying to avoid too much stuff..by woo - Controllers
dc42: I am thinking about min, and max temperature definitions for bed and nozzle, etc. so there is +1 for smoothie, i just look at smoothies config file, there are all definitions in one file..by woo - Controllers
thank you! after some tinkering for now i am little on duet side because some lower price. il wait few more days to explore more and then buy something. in speed and power comparission i expect approx. same output from stepper drivers, or am i wrong? few questions about duet: On-board 5V switching regulator This produces too much EMI to meet CE regulations in a typical complete printer. Has any firmware any flaws when compared to marlin/repetier? Can anyone screenshot web interface from smoothie? I like duet, but with screw terminals from TP3D... I assume duet's interface is same as in Adrians video when introduced Ormerod? Affer all, i will work thru it so it is nice to see how il looks. i assume neither hat web cam option on board?by woo - Controllers
Quotedc42 I like the Duet because it has the better web interface. It doesn't have variable microstepping, it's fixed at 16x, but I can't think of any reason why you would want to use less. The basic board only has 4 drivers on board, so you need to add either the DueX4 or the Duet shield to get more. Smoothieboard costs more than Duet, however you can get a 5-driver Smoothieboard, which probablby woo - Controllers
Hello. I am making like 8th printer, and have decidet to buy decent motherboard. Until now i used only ramps. Money is not a issue, i can buy any board. what i want: Ethernet, digital trimpots/microstep settings, 5 motor controllers, working on 24V web interface and good support. I am few years on marlin/repetier and i am little affraight to change. smoothie looks easy to setup everything on sinby woo - Controllers

Hello.as shown in picture i have some problem with printer. This is my 6 or7th printer but never before with problem like this.? My printed line is not straight but goes micro zig zag motion. This happened after rewiring printer with new installation,so all components are fine. I assume that i have some problem with installation but cant figure where. you can build it for around 200 usd if you use ebay parts. i got mine for little more but with 3mm ful lasercut frame(no threaded rods on frame, payed 2 beers) and i use e3d hotend wich is little pricier then ebay hotends you can see it in repprappers forums.by woo - Reprappers
today i mocked up box to see how it works... with just foil(i still have to make acrylic door) and without heating system i got over 40 celsius in box. abs prints are looking good for now. next step: replacing all pla parts with abs and try to print abs on 80 degrees celsius without heated bed. il maybe burn som electronic or stepper..will seeby woo - Reprappers
all my belts are very tightened to avoid those harmonics wich can be see on edges when nozzle changes direction, and when motors are off there is enough resistance to move axis. from that i think, when done properly Z axis cannot fall. on other hand, that requires more power to motors, but you cannot have all... also, there is no need for some extreme resolution on Z axis., 0.01-0.02 mm is eby woo - Repetier
2 nicholas: I am shure that there is no need for this in xz. This system with timing belts is strong enough to keep gantry in place when motors are off. Also with xz z axis is fast so i dont see a problem when zeroing z axis on zmax and then x and y Your system is pretty complixated when used with timing belts and i for example dont like fishing line..by woo - Repetier
so here is it....finally i have made heated chamber. its from 12 mm MDF only glued. tomorrow i need to cut plexiglass doors on my cnc router and print hinges and handle. heated chamber is pretty big. 600x600x700 mm, but thats because i change approx 4-5 different printers every year so i dont know whats next sooo.... i have digital thermostat on 220V, 500 w heater and some fan, everything woby woo - Reprappers
