Dear David, Great work as usual! Do you still sell the 4" display+board? What is the price for shipping to India (pin code; 700033)? I was thinking of upgrading my OM2 (with Duet v0.6) with a touch-screen solution. Thanks Sumantby 7sumantb - Ormerod
Recently, we faced an issue with our 1 year old Ormerod 2,. When I turned on the machine, the heat bed thermistor was reading 175 C at room temperature. When I opened the Duet, I found that the resistance across the head bed thermistor terminals was locked at 98 Ohms. The hot-end thermistor behaved normally. When I opened the head bed thermistor, it measured 8K Ohms - normal. When I looked at heby 7sumantb - Ormerod
Great Idea. I have done a couple of talks in India in a number of cities - Kolkata, Ahmedabad starting with the basics of 3D printing - technologies, types of machines, basics, economics, etc.by 7sumantb - General
I have a couple of these motors JK42HS34-1334ac from an old RepRapPro build, and they work just fine. I can sell them to you for $12 each+ shipping.by 7sumantb - Ormerod
I was planning to add another Ormerod 2 machine. Since RepRapPro shut shop, I read in the forums that there were a few new buyers who recently got delivery of their Ormerod 2 kit and are now worried that they cannot assemble it or will not find spare parts. If you are one of those, and would like to sell your Ormerod 2 kit, please send me an email at: sb@alfat&by 7sumantb - Ormerod
I am very sorry to see RepRapPro closing down. Also feel very sorry for Ian that he is redundant. My best wishes to Ian for a new job.by 7sumantb - Ormerod
I see a strange fail on a new Melzi board that we just connected to our Mendel. For all operations, the Melzi works ok, the prints are fine. However, when I try to print with the SD card, I can't. The SD card init fails in the start-up, and the SD card fails to list all the files on the SD card. When I give the SD card init command, again I receive a SD card init fail message. Hi, We use a cooling fan for the single Duet board enclosure just so that electronics stay cool. We took RRP's lid enclosure dxf and added fan ducts. Adding the openscad codes: difference(){ linear_extrude(height = 2, center = true, convexity = 10) import (file = "Duet-enclosure-lid.DXF" ); translate([45,72,-5]) cylinder (r=18, h=10); //translate([45,72,0]) cube ([40,40,10],center=true); transby 7sumantb - Ormerod
DC, Do let us know how your 300x480 Kossel works out.. My experience with the bigger build printers is that the frame needs to be heavy and stable, because vibrations etc multiply and this affects machine movements, and print quality. So, I am ok with the smaller foot-print machine for doing my small parts - at the end print quality is important (to us).by 7sumantb - Fisher
Looking forward to the Fisher.. (I already have a Mendel and a Ormerod.) We do a fair amount of 3D printing now but almost all of it is in ABS, and so a heated bed plus a few chemicals is absolutely required for our work to ensure warp-free prints - (and sometimes we do nylon or PET, and again a heated bed is handy.) I know that there are quite a few printers there that don't have a heated bed,by 7sumantb - Fisher
All, I have been using the 12V 20A power supply that came with an earlier Mendel - and found that the voltage drop (with both heater and bed on) to be about 0.1 V (So with heater and bed on - I see 12.1V) With the ATX power supply, I see a voltage drop of about 1.2V (So, with heater and bed on - I see 10.8V) Wonder why the ATX power supply was used in the first place when a 12V 20A power supplby 7sumantb - Ormerod
I have been printing a while with the Ormerod and had some ideas/issues which I think can be resolved easily: 1. X carriage Slippage on the LMU12 bearings: After about 10 prints or so, I noticed that my prints were coming mis-aligned. After close inspection, I found that the X-carriage had slipped on the LMU12 bearings. In the Mendel design there were 3 such bearings (and the fit was tighter) -by 7sumantb - Ormerod
Thanks for the warning. I had my plate the right side up. But just for caution, I placed some Kapton tape on the exposed part of the pins - this way the +12V is insulated and cannot short or create any unforeseen disaster. Thanks Sumantby 7sumantb - Ormerod
I am interested in buying your ABS filament. How can I place an order for Rs 500? Thanks Sumantby 7sumantb - India RUG
