Quotedc42 You need to set the Duets to have different MAC addresses, using M540 commands in config.g. Ahh thank you! I didn't realise they all had the same MAC.by Geoffro - Fisher
Quotejmgiacalone Hello Geoff, It's nice to see you're getting on well with your Fisher builds. I agree the filament feed isn't ideal. When the angles are right, it works quite well as you pointed out. I'll see if I can come up with a more robust solution. What is your issue with the effector wiring? Could you explain the mess, perhaps with some photos? Sure, In the picture you see on the lefby Geoffro - Fisher
Yeah it's called a packet of 3 pens from the local $2 reject store, pull them apart, cut them in half and there you go. No name cheapo retractable pens.by Geoffro - Fisher
Quotegeeksarebeta I love my Fisher too, how have you calibrated yours? I have printed a couple of new parts but wary of using them in case they're inaccurate, leading to other prints with inaccuracies in them. I simply print a part, measure it and I guess I've been lucky and little has been required. I used stiffer springs under the Build Plate, the ones supplied are too squishy and I tighten myby Geoffro - Fisher
Hey guys, I finished building my 3rd Fisher today (the new upgraded kit from the Beta is much improved I have to say, build time is faster - I built 2 machines at the same time so it was easier, got both done in about 5 hours ready to print, they all work great. However... I was hoping to be able to have 3 browser windows open to control all 3 printers simultaneously, but everytime I connectby Geoffro - Fisher
Printed on the fisher beta, original firmware, 0.2mm, 80ms feed, 250ms travel, no rafts or supports. I was amazed at the dimensional accuracy. The red Fisher was printed in ABS on a flash forge at 0.2mm and the parts all needed filing and sanding. The purple and yellow PLA prints from the fisher, no sanding or anything required. Absolute most perfect prints out of any of my machines. I will alwaysby Geoffro - Fisher
How fast is a Fisher? fast enough to print all the parts for 2 more Fishers easily in a day and still have time to knock most of the frames up The only 2 things not printed on the fisher were the nozzle fan ducts, which I print in ABS. Thanks to Jean-Marc at E-Maker, if not for him I don't know where I would have found some more kits!by Geoffro - Fisher
That's a good question... I've never even used the USB port on mine, but I don't think it's an interface as such like the ethernet port.. Possibly also the usb on the duet board I think might be specifically for flashing the firmware instead of controlling the board, so it is possible there is not an easy way to do it. When you say your ethernet does not work, are you sure it is the ethernet coby Geoffro - Fisher
My fisher has done this a couple of times, but a reboot fixes it for me.by Geoffro - Fisher
I thought I would add a small screenshot, it has been about 6 or so months since I built this kit and so far so good, I so wish Reprap had not closed down.. JUST when they had the machine to beat everyone else... Yes there are alot of asian clone companies (and sadly I've bought most of their cruddy printers) but the fisher was different to them all. The only mods I've made to it is add a raspbby Geoffro - Fisher
OMG thank you Jean-Marc, sending you a PM now!by Geoffro - For Sale
Hiy,a I'm desperate to buy another fisher kit, it's proving near impossible... I don't suppose you would have a kit? I can print the parts myself, so it would only be hardware, thanks.by Geoffro - For Sale
I also used those bearings instead. I had used them on my full delta and kossel mini and they always did a perfect job of keeping the belt in line - I wondered why they had not supplied them for the fisher. They are relatively cheap, I bought a pack of 50 for about $20 on ebay.by Geoffro - Fisher
Ahh yeah good point, didn't even think about the heat and the acrylic!by Geoffro - Fisher
I am just using a boroscilliate round glass bed I bought off Ebay, it was around $30. I didn't want to mess with the Duet too much so I was going to try an external power supply to run the bed.. basically I'm ripping it off the kossel, still wired up and running both machines, but just heating the bed through the kossel interface, thats the plan anyway for the interim . The only thing I need to fby Geoffro - Fisher
Yes these work fine. I have one on my Kossel kit. My pad is 160mm tho.. the plate I have is 170mm so you lose a small amount of build area but it's worth it for the ABS factor. I have not put it on the fisher yet but I plan to.by Geoffro - Fisher
Thanks! I will send you a PM, I will definitely buy the full kit, or at least enough to get it going, more than happy to print my own housings.by Geoffro - Fisher
Heya! I just finished and tested my Fisher kit and although alot of my comments I know have been iterated in other posts already I'll still mention them, hopefully the more people that mention the same things, the more people will see it. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the kit and the value. I took advantage of the Beta pricing and after some conversion it ended up around $540AU, so lessby Geoffro - Fisher
I built mine in about 2-3 hours, it was really easy I have to say, except for some of the black lasercut parts being too tight and breaking.by Geoffro - Fisher
