Thanks Ian That's exactly what i'm looking for. I saw the mod for the redirecting the airflow but this meant dismantling and reassembling the print head which i'd rather not do. \as i'm experimenting with ABS and PLA I wanted the option to adjust airflow via fan control which the FAN0 connections seemed to offer. Your detailed explanation has encouraged me to go ahead and make the relevant changeby Gary J - Fisher
dc42, Thanks for the quick response but please excuse my ignorance, When you talk about a single combined hot end and cooling fan I don't understand. If I just move the fan wires from there current position to FAN0 will this cause an issue or will it effectively become a combined set-up oir will nothing happen at all? I have to say i'm not sure of the set-up of the PCB so I may be asking a stuby Gary J - Fisher
Hi all Can someone tell me why with the Fisher Delta we cannot use the 'FAN0' connections then use macro's to control the output of the fan. Connecting the fan as per current instructions the fan continues to run even when the printing has stopped. Does anyone know of any issues that could occur if I disconnect from the current location to FAN0? Many thanks Garyby Gary J - Fisher
Hi Chris, I had similar problems and as highlighted by dc42 it was the micro switches. I slotted the panel to allow the switches to move closer to the arm assembly which cured the problem. However, the side panels seem to buckle after a little and could cause further issue. I lucky it has not, but others have replaced the panel with greater thickness and others have replaced the switches with haby Gary J - Fisher
Hi All Recently purchased 3mm float glass for the Fisher to place on top of the heatbed. I need to fasten the glass to stop it moving when printing but I would rather not use using glues etc. The issue which I sure you are all aware of is that there is minimal space to apply bulldog or similar clips. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what clips I can use, I tried printing some with PLA butby Gary J - Fisher
Hi dc42, i would like to make the changes in config.g as described but when I run the Auto Delta Calibration I just get a small blue strip across the bottom of the screen showing with what seems a variance measure 'Calibrated 4 factors using 4 points, deviation before 0.022 after 0.000' Where do I find or how do I get the x,y,and z parameters to enter into the config.g. Regards Gary Jby Gary J - Fisher
Thanks dc42, after checking the command was still applied. I have removed and all seems well. Thanks again.by Gary J - Fisher
The sd card I was using became corrupted and I reformatted to remove issues. After re-loading the Firmware and other folders onto the card, amending the config g file to ensure correct height of the nozzle from the heatbed and other settings I re-inserted the sd card into the fisher. Unfortunately it no longer picks up the heatbed on the DWC Panel. I added the command M305 P2 R4700 to thermistoby Gary J - Fisher
Thanks janpenguin and DADIY both methods seem ideal so I think I will have to toss a coin to decide. Many thanks Garyby Gary J - Fisher
Hi all I have only recently built my Fisher-Delta and replaced the cold bed with a heated one. I have noticed that the sides have become slightly distorted and have thought of replacing which this forum has provided answers.. However, I am very interested in replacement of the rods to carbon with igus ball ends. to aid me could you tell me what diameter and length of carbon rod I need and whatby Gary J - Fisher
p.s Forgot to mention that I am always open to suggestions and the suggestion of additional cooling is of interest and would be happy to receive any detail relating to this. Many thanks Garyby Gary J - Printing
Thanks MCcarman and Tinchus for your assistance, I am a complete novice when it comes to 3d printing but learning fast. The unit I purchased is a Fisher Delta printer which required assembly. The fan is a small axial 50mm fan and directs air to the nozzle; so I assume this air is to cool the filament as it is extruded from the nozzle. I am using Simply 3d software to produce the g-code and suppoby Gary J - Printing
Many thanks for your help, the fan forms part of the head assembly and is running at 100%, therefore to cool the printed object faster I will need to apply additional cooling. Can I use an external fan or does it have to be directed to the part more accurately. If I can use external fan and suggestions? Regards Garyby Gary J - Printing
Hi all, I am trying to print a cylinder head as part of a rotary engine build. Unfortunately the print leaves a lot to be desired, I printed the object on its back so the fins of the cylinder head are printed vertically. I tried printing the cylinder head on its top but the fins just became a congealed mess. The first issue you can see from the rear view is the supports confused the build processby Gary J - Printing
Hi DADIY, adjusted the nozzle height and it has made all the difference. Still need to sort out some settings in Simply3d as it sends instructions to the printer and adjusts temp settings which causes problems during the print. I have found that the printer I have likes 200c for PLA and nothing less otherwise the output starts falling apart. Thanks again for all your help its invaluable to beginby Gary J - Duet
Hi all, after upgrading my Fisher-Delta with Duet 0.6 pcb to firmware version 15c and DWC 12 with the help of dc42 and DADIY I know hit upon another issue of the first layer not sticking to the bed. The nozzle temp is 200c and the bed 60c it starts to print and initially is sticks to the bed then becomes unstuck and moves with the nozzle. I have cleaned the bed and put pva glue on to enhance sticby Gary J - Duet
I have now made the changes to firmware and DWC and all works well after a few teething problems with the heater. But thanks to dc42 and DADIY the DWC now updates properly and feedback on commands is fast. Many thanks Gary J.by Gary J - Duet
Many thanks to DADIY and dc42 for your help. I currently has firmware 11c installed so I should be able to use DWC interface to update the firmware to 15c. Can I use this interface to upload the Latest DWC? I will download bossac from the web if you feel it is needed. Thanksby Gary J - Duet
Hi Neil, I filed the slots that hold the microswitch to allow it to move to the left slightly. All works fine when selecting all home button. The modification keeps all microswitches at the same height.by Gary J - Fisher
Hi all I am a complete novice to this 3d printing thing. After seeing the Fisher Delta at Wings and Wheels Model Aircraft Show displayed by Traplet I saw huge potential for designing and printing components for my rc aircraft projects. I have built the 3d printer and fitted a heatbed as ABS is more flexible and more suited to large model aircraft. My problem is that I cant get the DWC to displayby Gary J - Duet
Hi dc42, the problem I have is that the DWC opens and connects and I am able to send commands but I get no feedback to the DWC. My concern is that I can't monitor the Nozzle or bed temperature. I would like to see whats happening so I can adjust accordingly. I can connect via USB lead but would rather use the DWC as the interface is clear and understandable to my limited knowledge.
