The listed heater is 320mm, so I assume it is for a bed 350mm or 400mm. If this is the case, it is too powerful, which can be quite dangerous. For a bed 400mm diam, 500W is sufficient. I am using a 280W bed heater (280mm) for a bed of 300mm diameter, which is 0.4W/cm2 , and with a good bottom insulation (ceramic fiber), this is sufficient to go higher than 150°C (measured) and cook your effectby PRZ - Delta Machines

David, For cartesian, did you average probe if you have more probing points than the required number of parameters, as done on Delta ?by PRZ - Duet
You can add as many probe points you wish, with M557 or in bed.g macro The number of parameters taken into account (S parameter in G30) shall be less than the probe points number. RepRap_Firmware_macros#bed.g QuoteGaou would it be possible to add some more probe points for bed levelling ? for now you can add a fifth point as i know. but it would be nicer if we can add some more.by PRZ - Duet
In the step 3, shall the result of M573 be timed by 255 (or 256), according this message ? Quotedc42 PID adjustment For the hot end, if you are getting overshoot then just reducing the S parameter will probably be the simplest way to cure it. Otherwise, here is one approach to tuning the PID constants: 1. Set S to 1.0, P to 20, B to 30, and I, D and T to zero. 2. Command the hot end to a hiby PRZ - Duet
A screw/nut may be interesting if you are running servomotors. There is work in progress on servo drivers here here and here Due to high rotation speed, you will have inertia problems with difficulties to get accelerations, however servo controlled motors (or hybrid steppers) allow temporary current pulse much higher than what you can do on an open loop stepper which use continuously the sby PRZ - Delta Machines

In Europe, supplying a MSDS on demand is compulsory. This shall take into account the dye. Not doing so is unlegal and I think most filament sellers are way outside legality, not only for not supplying the MSDS, but also because using toxic additive, notably for dark colors. Linear rod have two problems : - If the rod are 8mm diameter, this is too small except for a quite small machine - If bearing/rods are of poor quality, it is difficult to replace them and you have to rebuilt a big part of the machine to replace them. This only can be used if they are sourced from a reputed supplier. For average or large machine you need rods diameter 12 or 16 and bearings are mby PRZ - Delta Machines
I added a buzzer on my printer 'Lily' (Duet 0.6), that shall identical for a board 0.8.5 I used a buzzer SFM-27 as it is easy to find on ebay, low cost and low consumption (1.27 Euros, shipping included !). I have not the consumption at 3.3V, but it may be below 10 mA. Not very noisy at this voltage, but it may wake up you if you are having a nap on your keyboard. David, if I well remember, your machine use low acceleration (2000) and have a relatively light effector. However, you use 0.9 stepper. This is not very demanding compared to some others machines. My D-Box with similar steppers as yours is using acceleration 6000 (and was tested at 8000) with an effector weighting slightly above 200g. It works well, but I am only in 24V. If final reaching setpoint is slow, you have to adjust PID. For heating adjustment, have a look at this RepRap wiki page 'RepRap_Firmware_heating': In M301, don't forget the T parameter, it is specific to RepRap Firmware DC42 fork, but it improves the control and I get much better result with the Fisher hotend while adjusting it (which is relatively easy). This particular post of Paul Wanamaker seems of interest for Nema23 use :by PRZ - Duet
David, I feel 3V is a very thin margin, I will be afraid of voltage spikes due to return current generated by deccelerating stepper, especially if you use higher inductance steppers and/or high mobile mass. In addition, if using Nema23 you get mid-band resonances, that may also creates spikes. 0.9° stepper will also increase return current for a given inertia. You may have a look to this reprap wiki page 'Delta_geometry': Yes, the only 'rule' is the minimum angle for a given reachable diameter, you cannot use a percentage of the machine dimension as the position on the articulation relative to clearance diameter varies a lot depending the belts and fans installation. Yes, belts dies from fatigue and fatigue for composite materials is a VERY complex matter. What I want to point with the shapeoko link is this sentence in 'tensile chords' paragraph: Quote Steel cords have higher tensile stiffness, but can't be bent as tightly so they may require larger-diameter pulleys and idlers. Quotedougal1957 Think it is the repeated bending/straightening that works hardby PRZ - Delta Machines
There is an interesting piece about belts on Shapeoko site: So, it seems nothing could replace kevlar for belt reinforcment. or , simply get larger belts or double them. A clay printer need less speed than a filament printer, so you may accept a stepper with higher inductance, hence lower current, especially if you run high voltage. With steppers Nema17 at 6.5 kg.cm and 1.5A like this one You may run an effector of around 1kg with 16 teeth pulleys, if you go not too fast? You may play with arm length to limit overspeed at large diameter.by PRZ - Duet

It is clear that trying to recover the money without a trial was wise. Lawyers are costly and going through legal system is a very long process.
