Im guessing this may be to do with your extruder motor colliding with the x ends or something similar. Really the whole design is very much subject to simple modification, and is hardly optimised for print area, the general community, i think, is more interested in print quality. If you want to maximise your print area it shouldn't be too difficult to modify the machine. Moving the bushings on tby ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group
It lets you modify your y carriage, so that the belts sort of hook on for quick release. I did this by bending the belt back over a nail and zip tying it so the belt teeth would mesh and it wouldn't slip. Then you can just replace the belt clamps with a printed hook. Quite handy if you spend a lot of time modifying your printerby ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group

We started building our machine as secondary students and then went on to sell a machine to our high school. wee bit on that here. I would say that we learned a lot more practical technical skills building our reprap than we did in our entire high schooling span so its really great to see other high school students keen to build repraps. It was a makergear hot end. The thing took ages to heat up as well. not sure it was getting enough currentby ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group
We have tried using a fan but found it lowered our nozzle temp rapidly. I've seen people using ducting systems to direct the airflow around the nozzle and directly onto the print, though I didnt find anything I liked that was really tailored for prusa. Just have to get around to modelling one.by ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group

yea im around all week on study leave. flick me an email eh. ithinkthatmaybe@gmail.comby ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group
hey. yes potentially very soon in fact. after building our Prusa, a few high schools in the area have expressed interest in having us build some for them. we are looking at building them over the Christmas holidays for about 800 to 1000 depending on how good the machine is, ie lower ongoing maintenance and such. PM me if your interested and i can get back to you when we start to get things sortby ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group
ah yea sure. i can probably sort you outby ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group

when your building something the computer is sending G-code to the controller, working with a 3D printer there are some different codes which control the extruder. to make your CNC rig work with an extruder you will need to find out if you could make your controller read the extrusion G-code and control the actual extruder(stepper motor, heating coil and thermistor). otherwise there may be some wby ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Just out of interest. There are a few components that ive been having a bit of trouble finding suppliers in NZ, such as the 608 bearings and belts any wisdom on this matter would be appreciated.by ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group

We are in Christchurch, so Im hoping that should make it relatively easy to get hold of some parts. We have also been wondering about The stepper motors and drivers. As we are trying to do this on a relatively limited budget, spending 30 dollars per stepper motor driver would not be ideal. cheers Samby ithinkthatmaybe - New Zealand RepRap User Group
