Hi Keen to help out local guys. Flick me the file (sketchup or stl) of the part you need and I will print it for you in pla, you'll just have to live with what ever colour I have set up. The only thing I ask for in return, is that when you are in a position to do the same for someone else. Arte Et Marteby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi I am also in upper hutt and have recently built a prusa. Keen to catch up and swap notes. Cheersby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi everyone I have a prusa that works OK. I am looking to improve the finish quality of the parts, hopefully by polishing the layer lines out of the pla parts. Has anyone got any ideas? Cheersby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks for the advice dust, will do the swap tonight and let you know. When I connect the printer, and switch on monitoring the hot end just reads room temp, it only goes spastic when the hot end temp is activated. Thanks againby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Hot end: j head 0.5mm mark iv-b Thermistor: stock Electronics: Sanguinololu 1.3a Firmware: arduino Software: pronterface I set the temp to 180 and to monitor. The temperature climbs steadily and doesn't stop at the preset set. This is confirmed by smell and hot end dripping, so there is a definite issue. The thermistor has two wires that plug into the board inby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi I have a problem with my orusa hot end, the temperature continues to climb regardless of what temperature I set it to. Any ideas on what the problem is? Regards Keithby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Thanks for the tip Bob. I am not sure how to turn up the current, as i can't find the pot to perform the adjustment. Can you see it in the picture?by guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Finally calibrating. I can get a 100mm square 1mm wide no problem. I cant seem to print anything over 10mm height, as it turns into the learning tower of pizza. I have turned the slic3r settings down to 30 but it doesn't seem to improve quality, I have also tried printing different sizes with the same result. Hi Dust I have reformated by laptop and started fresh with no joy. I installed a second print button in pronterface hoping that would work. It saod it was unable to print because it was not connected (orginal print button greyed out). The board is going back tomorrow so hopefully I will know whats wrong with it very quickly. It has been frustrating to say the least but I have all faith in Acby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I changed #define MOTHERBOARD 33 to #define MOTHERBOARD 62 and pressed verify, it said done compiling, below that it said 'binary sketch size: 45364 bytes (of a 63488 byte maximum). I plugged the board in and switched it on, pressed the upload button, it said uploading, followed by: Avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp0=30 Avrdude: stk5009_disable (): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0by guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group

Hi Dust outstanding bit of information, understand everything except for: >>>> make sure there is a jumper on the auto reset jumper (between the large back chip and the Z Driver module) <<<< Have successfully down loaded the three packages and unzipped them in my c drive. when I opened arduino i was able to select the correct board. Have found the motherboard referenceby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
I haven't reloaded the firmware on the board, don't know how.by guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi Dust Thanks again for the email and the clarification on the drives (it all helps). So I switched on the board, then fired up pronterface, selected com 3 (which is the one appearing / disappearing when viewed in device driver) @ various rates (see below): Rate: Result: 1. 250000. Connecting ... (waiting 5 minutes with nothing happening / changing) 2. 11by guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi Dust Thanks for the info. It is a sanguinololu board, I installed the driver that you recommended in your post. I could also see it appear / disappear from the devcie manager screen when I unplugged / plugged it in, sadly it didnt help my issue. I cant see any prusa/sanguinololu board from the my computer screen (only see C, D and E drive) which I thought is not normal, does this mean theby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Is this still going, I am keen to attend to see what others have done, me I have spent alot of money on a piece of art (doesn't connect, doesn't work).by guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi I have just finished building a prusa which was supplied by www.acronum.com (NZ Company). I can't connect pronterface (or repsnapper) to the prusa. The board has a green led on it which is on. I think the computer recognises something has been plugged in, not sure if it knows what to do about it. I have confidence in the electronics as it was assembled by Acronum (tested OK prior to shippiby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
Hi I am planning on starting to build a reprap in the next month. I have done some research and believe I have a basic understanding of what is potentially good and what is bad. I would like to hear from other like minded people about their success and more importantly their pitfalls. Super keen to learn of anyone currently in the build process. Any advice you provide would be greatly apprecby guyfromwellington - New Zealand RepRap User Group
